Here is a version similar to #13, but with colorful pencils all pointed in toward the center. I could give the pencils more definition, but your request notes that you're looking for something simple, so I opted to leave them a solid color, with just the tips colored to look like graphite. I'm happy to make a more detailed version if you like this concept.

Here is another version like #13, same diamond shape, but with graphite looking tips added to the rays so they look like pencils.

Can we try #35 with the rainbow spokes closer together so that the pencil doesn't look splintered?
