All,
Thank you for your entries. A few updates I'd like to make, with the V being the center of the logo focus on doing something with that letter rather than the O or I. Also avoid generic gavels, scales and other legal monikers. I am leaning towards red but I would open it to other colors and lean on your creativity.

I will at times be using the tag line with the logo but will want the Pivot logo to be able to stand on its own.

As stated in the brief the name Pivot with the tag line "Leverage when you need it most" will be used to represent the company the majority of the time. However there will be times when Pivot Legal Services will be used. I'd like to see some ideas on how that could look with some of what has been submitted.
