Hello - thanks for your first ideas in our logo contest. The dove is very striking and I get why this would be a significant symbol for a spirit-filled church (which I think we are!), but I think we're looking for something which communicates more about people gathering. I love that you've picked out something which in all other ways looks like it would go nicely on our website, though, so I hope you could bring some more ideas if you have time. Best wishes and thanks again, Bern Leckie @ Pip n Jay
Hello - thanks for #60 and variations - it's clever and closer to what we're after. Still feels a bit on the ornate and traditional side, making me think of quite an old church building (which we happen to have, but doesn't feel like our identity - we're mostly about the people!) Is there anything you can think of which suggests a community coming together? Many thanks, Bern
Hello - loving the new ideas, thank you! How would #91 look with the dots on the other side of the corners? I love the idea of three people working together. Are there ways in which they could be reaching or facing out, or drawing people in? Many thanks, Bern
Hello - great reaction from the team to #104, one of the strongest because of its energy, simpllcity and sense of fun. Could we have a 4-part variant of that, as long as it isn't too close to anyone else's design? #101 contains the kind of ghostly stick figures we would like to avoid. #100 is also good, but the most attractive is #104. Looking forward to the final stages and any more ideas you have are really appreciated. Best wishes, Bern
#159 very nice! Could we have a version with a bit of space between the people, which should reveal a nice hint (at least) of a cross in the middle? Thanks! Bern
Great - you're in our top ranking, and it would be good to see any other ideas or variations you think would be good at this final stage. Many thanks, Bern
Hello - as we approach the end of the contest, I want to thank and encourage you. #160 is one of our top contenders, and we're just starting to mock up the potential winners in contexts like Powerpoint presentations, Christmas invitations, brochures, visual story telling and animation. I would like our winning logo to be one which primarily shows who we are in one glance, but also is versatile and easy for us to use elements in these different contexts.
If you have any ideas for variations which can make something as versatile as possible for us, now would be a great time to get them!
Many thanks again for all your hard work and great ideas - Bern
Hello again - I wanted to thank you as our contest comes to a close, and say how much I enjoyed working with you and showing our favourite of your designs, #160, to a wide group of people in our final decision making process. Ultimately it just missed out on winning, but I hope a little more feedback may be useful in explaining how we arrived at that decision. We mocked up how each of our final few designs would look in context on plain and busy backgrounds, as well as in some creative ideas which integrated the logo to make a point to an audience. We showed these mock ups to a wide range of people outside and inside the church to gauge the impression each logo would make, and what they made people think the church would be like. #160 gave a great impression of energy, vitality and the gathering of people in a warm, friendly way. It turned out to be extremely popular within the church community itself, although there was some criticism that Jesus or the cross was rather unclear. Outside the church, with the people who we're trying to reach, people liked the design but felt that others looked more modern, and the impression was more of a community group than a gathering around something else like Jesus. However, the shape was one of our favourites, so we persevered to find ways it could do the job we wanted it to do in context. In our final decision making, we realised that #160 was really well suited to display next to our content, but we favoured a different design where content could live within the logo itself. This was a very difficult decision to make, as it wasn't something we originally foresaw when we wrote the brief, but that is ultimately why we came to the amazing LogoTournament community, to be surprised by ideas which are better than we could have come up with ourselves. Your designs have definitely impressed us a lot, and I've recommended you to other people who may be looking for logos in the future. Thank you again. Best wishes, Bern
