What We Do
My brand is a physical therapy practice that is adding a wellness component to it. The physical therapy practice focuses on neuromuscular reeducation and gait analysis. I am the person people come to see when no one else has been able to help them get back to their optimal level of function. I use pilates equipment as my main modality. I work one on one with patients for one hour helping identify the foundational elements that are missing from their movement patterns and build them a home exercise program that addresses these missing pieces and then help them build these neuromuscular patterns into their movement, allowing them to function at their optimal level.
My work helps patients identify and engage their intrinsic muscular system (the small, deeper, postural muscles) and the extrinsic muscular system (the larger, stronger, more superficial muscles) in a cohesive fashion so they can function optimally. My work involves spatial cueing as well as instruction in the concept of tensegrity to help people find length and height posturally and through their movement patterns.
I talk about posture being 1,000 reps of any exercise and so postural awareness and integrity is one of the keys to functionally improving movement.
The wellness portion of my business will be incorporating concepts from Peter Attia's book Outlive and podcast, the Drive, which suggest that exercise is the primary modality that we have available to us that can move the needle on healthspan and lifespan. The center will be offering small group exercise classes that focus on VO2 max training and strength training.
There will be a modality room that offers sauna and cold plunge treatments.
The target audience is people with a prevention mindset who want to improve their healthspan and want to function optimally.
