Hello! Here is my submission to your LT contest.

The leaves on the tree in the logo represent light/flames/growth and the PHOS congregation. Trees are a great symbol of life since they are always growing and so is the congregation. The lantern represents the beckoning light of the future and lighting the way to enlightenment for those whom are seeking it.

Submission #98 shows you what the logo would look like in black/white.

Revisions always welcome. I can easily change out fonts, colors, etc. Hope you like my idea.

#100 adds a glow/light to the "O" in the logo.

Could we see this design with a more hand-written font?

Thank you!

Yes, no problem. Will upload some alternatives shortly.

Thank you for your help! We like the idea of bringing the tree into the image... could we see a logo with different (more natural... greens/browns) colors and without the slogan? I think this could simplify it. Also, since Phos means "Light," how can we emphasize the idea of the lantern, rather than the tree? I know that trees are bigger than lanterns, but is there a way to keep the tree, but make the lantern stand out most?

Thank you so much!

Let me know what you think about #150. Is it closer to what you were looking for? Hope you like it, let me know what you think.

That was good thinking! I really liked how, on your other logos, the icon and the words were very integrated... could that happen with this one? Maybe if the branch were over the words? As for fonts, we like the fonts to be different for Phos than for Community Church. Ideally, the font for Phos is more unique, larger and something that we could use as a logo itself within the brand. Hopefully, the font would be kind of hand-written and sketched, between #109 and #112. For the words Community Church, we'd like something more classic similar to what you used on most of your logos, but not as squatty-looking and short. And as for the rays coming from the lantern, could it just be a couple rays coming straight from the light itself instead of a lot of rays behind it? I think that would make the logo simpler.

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Hi there! We like where you are headed, but we aren't all the way there yet! Here are a couple edits we'd like to see to move forward through this stage of the process:

• Could the font be not so sketchy? By that I mean that we like the hand-written look, but the lines look like they are written with a graphite pencil and not so filled in. Maybe we try the font in #112 with a lowercase p? Could we see it both italicized and not?

• How would the leaves look as all one color. Since I have sent in ideas, I am afraid it is going to get to complex and we want it to be very simple. Could the leaves be a forest green color? More organic than primary/secondary color scheme.

• Is there a way to still make the branch part look like a tree... have a branch coming up AND one over the word? This way, we keep the tree look, but still bring the image together with the words.

• Can the flame in the lantern not look like a cross? We don't want the cross image to be overdone and since we are trying to communicate that Phos is light, we hope to do that with the lantern.

• And, could we see the image without the yellow rays of light? Could a couple streaks from the light itself do for showing it shine instead of a gradient background with different yellows? We want the logo to communicate well in black and white also.

Thank you so much for your help! Again, let me say... we like where you are headed!

Hello! Here are my new entries:

#192 - the type from #112 with a lower case "p" and the tree with more of a trunk look
#193 - same as above but with italic type
#194 - same as #192, but with no rays at all
#195 - same as #192 but with only two rays emitting from the latern

Hope you like them. If you'd like more revisions, please don't hesitate to ask, I am striving to have it perfect for you.

Thanks!

Very nice!!! Our current favorite of yours is #194. The fonts are great and I think leaving the light rays out is helpful for simplifying things since there is a lot going on here. Could we see it with a bigger flame in the lantern (maybe that you could see on both sides of the black corner of the lantern facing the viewer)? And, could we see it with darker colored leaves... a deep vibrant rich green? Lastly, is there a way to make the p of phos not cover up the yellow circle? It would help us to see phos shifted left a little and also shifted right a little to make a decision about which is better. I like how the p and the h integrate so well with the above leaves so I am hoping to not lose that effect in this edit.

Thank you so much!!!

#206 and #207 reflect the design revisions you asked for. In #207, the type is moved to the right a tad.

Also, just wanted to make you aware that I have asked Matadewa to withdraw his entires #197, #198 and #199 entries because I feel he/she has infringed on my original idea of a lantern hanging from a branch. I hope you'll understand this request.

Please let me know if you'd like to see any other revisions, I can make the green in the leaves darker, but as they go darker they lose vibrancy.

Thanks again,
Annette

#209 shows what the logo would look like in one color - black only

#208 is our favorite of yours. I like that flame best and it seems pretty simple. And, we are almost there! Could you make the words Community Church the same distance from the bottom of the letters "hos" as it is from the down part of "p"? It looks too close to the "p," and we like the distance from the "hos." And, can the yellow ring around the image be solid instead of having a gradient touch to it? We would like the ring to match the yellow color within the lantern. Lastly, tonight, we had a meeting with folks from our church and chose colors for our building during a renovation we are starting. And, I thought we were going to go with deep colors, but our yellow and green are lighter. Could we see that, the yellow more creamy and light and the green more sage? Can't wait to see what you come up with! I really appreciate all of your hard work and we are liking the direction you are headed!

Thank you!!!

#215 hopefully represents all your alts. If you want the yellow lighter, please let me know, that's an easy change.

Hope you like it. Thanks for all the great feedback.
