Hey RGBee,

We're intrigued by your submissions. Play with the colors a little (maybe try it in blue or something else that you think looks good) and experiment with a 3D look. Also, keep in mind that this logo will appear on every page of our website so it has to be aesthetically pleasing and symmetrical. Maybe symmetry could be achieved by putting the big colorful P in the word pegged, so its not a free standing icon, it would be incorporated into the full word. You could also incorporate it into the full word by writing pegged through the P, similar to the McDonald's logo.

Basically, we like the designs you've made so far, we just want to see more similar to these designs with different colors and 3d look and we also want to see new designs incorporating the big P with the word.

Sounds good. I'll play around with some ideas today. Just a word of warning, I am still technically a probationary designer since I just joined this site. I've noticed that it takes anywhere from a few hours to a whole day to get my designs approved before they show up on the contest page.

Just to be clear, we want to keep the little rise bars on the p? Would you also like to add some to the end of the word?

Thanks!

Hey Ralf. Really like entry #54, but I think we like the green coloring more than the blue. What do you think, for website purposes? Also try making the ///P in entry #54 a tad bit smaller, it's a little too big right now and makes the ///P seem too disconnected from the rest of the word don't you think? We like the grey of the rest of the word "egged" but see if you can't make it stand out a bit more and make that a little more vibrant/3d while keeping it the grey color. Also make a submission without altering the "egged" at all but just making the ///P smaller and the original green color.

Feel free to use your artistic expression and try to submit as many entries as possible utilizing the comments I just mentioned. This is definitely on the right track! Keep up the good work Ralf and thanks for your input and comments as well.

Will do! One of my concerns though is that when you shrink the P in #54, the "egged" will no longer be able to fit neatly underneath. This will have me push the P further back and create some awkward white space between the P and the egged.

As for the color, It really depends on your preference. I think both green and blue with a slight gradient will look great. It also depends on what accent colors you choose for you website. I tend to like blue with gray in those instances because it just seems to have a greater versatility across a variety of backgrounds an applications.

One final point I wanted to discuss with you is the "3D" effect. Are you referring to a 3D glossy effect or actual perspective with the letters? I was thinking you referred to the glossy web 2.0 type effect. One thing I've come up against in the past with adding perspective is that It really limits where you can apply the logo in the long run. It might look good on the web but not so good on t-shirts, mugs, letterheads or printed out. Just my two cents! That being said, it is your logo after all and you should get it how you want it.

I will submit more entries today and keep working with your feedback.

Thanks for your time,

-Ralf

Ralf,

You make a good point about shrinking the P, maybe we should stay away from that for now. Also, the 3d effect referred to is the web 2.0/glossy and bubbly look. We don't necessarily want it to pop out in a way that changes perspective too much, we just like the look of logos such as the skype logo. We'll give you feedback on the new entries when we see them and we'll go from there. Thanks for keeping in contact with us, its greatly appreciated.

No problem whatsoever. I think you'll like some of the options once they get posted. I tried a few different arrangements and we can always mix and match the elements you like. Talk to you soon!

We have an issue. One of the designers, Outlaw, has taken out a logocourt case against me. He is claiming that the bars with the P are his concept. I was merely expanding on what you had said from my very first design. I might have to withdraw this concept to keep my status here as a designer. I will keep you updated.

Hey ralf, thanks for the new submissions. Out of all of your submissions we still like #54 the most. Can you please submit that exact logo, but make the P in green instead of blue and keep everything else the same. In addition to that can you try to submit a few more designs before the deadline. We're really impressed with what you've come up with so far and just want to see if you can come up with something additional before the contest is over. If you do have time to submit more, try to focus on the web 2.0 qualities, maybe make the whole logo bubbly like the skype logo. Thanks again ralf!

I sure can. There's only one issue with that. #54 is one of the logos that is up in court right now. If it gets enough votes ALL of my entries will be removed from the contest. "Outlaw" designs is claiming that the lines with the P is his concept and will remove all of my logos that are similar. I think that my logos naturally evolved from my #25 and are generally better executed than his.

In either case I will have to keep an eye out on the voting numbers and withdraw my entries before the deadline if the voting gets too close. I will explore some options closer to my #25 and upload them later today. It's sad that some people's jealousy gets the better of them in situations like this. I will upload more today. keep you eyes peeled.

Thanks for the feedback!

Ralf, sorry we didn't address your logo court issue in our last comment, must have overlooked it. We're totally on your side with this. If you need to defend yourself cite to the facts that in our first comments and in the brief we explained that the bars concept was what we wanted. It was in the explanation and we posted a sketch in the brief with bars leading up to the P. Essentially, the original design was posted by us! Good luck, let us know what happens. Thanks.

I did. the rules state that "obvious" concepts, even if they are not addressed in the brief are fair game. Thanks for your support. But it might be out of my hands. It's really up to the other designers who will be voting. Right now the only logo f mine that isn't in court is my original submission #25. I'll be working on some alternatives today just in case I have to withdraw entry #54 and others related.

Please know that I am committed to making a logo for you that you are happy to show off and build a brand with!

Thanks again.

Well, they're all gone now. Looks like you'll have to pick from one of the other logos.
