Here are some of my concepts. I've gone for something that's fairly clean and simple, yet striking. Creating an icon that works well within the logo or as a stand alone element, one that can be used for things like favicons or watermarks.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
Thanks for your 3 creative designs. I like parts of all of them.
I ranked the one that I liked best. I was wondering how it might look if the base leg of the letter P was extended a little more. I know that it's a "P", but I'm afraid that some might confuse it with a "D".
Also, i'm terrible about this lingo... what is a "favicon"? and what is "100% vector"? sorry for my limited knowledge. I do like what it sounds like is a lot of flexibility for many uses.
Thanks for the feedback and comments, always appreciated! Week is going well thanks - glad its Friday though!
Of course would be my pleasure. Here are a few iterations; #22, #23, #24 and #25 With all of them I've extended the "P" slightly.
That's alright, and no need for apologies at all :)
Basically a Favicon is that tiny icon associated with a particular website, typically displayed in the address bar of a browser accessing the site or next to the site name in a user's list of bookmarks.
With regards to "vector" ... Technically speaking Vector graphics files store the lines, shapes and colors that make up an image as mathematical formulae. Doing this makes them scalable to any size without the loss of quality. So for instance if you wanted to use this on a billboard, it would scale perfectly and still be crystal clear. Other file formats are pixel based files - so photographs for instance. These can't be scaled upwards only downwards otherwise they will be pixelated and blurry. These guys have articulated it a bit better; http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/design/pixel-vector-graphics-difference/
Hope that helps a bit? If you have any further queries don't hesitate to ask.
I think I like #22 and #23 now. Understood on the favicons and vectors now. I hope I can get all this separate b/c i have 2 diff companies that I would like to cross market...one is a law firm...one financial planning, but i am brand new to all of this.
Let me know if you think other color schemes might look better. I do like #15 too...just not sure how much.
Am I right in saying that this logo "Patton Planning" is the joint name for that law and financial planning venture? Well if you have any further queries fire away.
Colour schemes for me, are a very personal choice ... There is also a lot of psychology behind colours, and also complimentary colours etc. Black/Blue and Gold are great combinations, they work very well together. What I can do is work up a few combinations that I think would work, and see if they hit a note with you. Colours are easy to change.
Thanks. I like those too. And I didn't realize the negative "P" at first. Could you shorten the arrow from the left and thereby give the "P" and little 'backside' support? Thanks.
Thanks for all the changes. I've decided that I would definitely want to keep the line breaks in the letter. I'm honing in on entries #23, 70, and 71. For that last one (#71) could you keep the breaks black, but put gold in the middle (the reverse of 70).
Also, how would it look if you slid it over to the right just a tad. For example, if the measure was a 4" X 4" block, moving it to the right just a 1/4" or 1/8". It might not be that noticeable, but I'm curious. This may be able to be accomplished by just extending the base down by that amount too. I'm wondering what it would look like with a little more black in the bottom left.
No problems at all, here are a few new variations;
#75 - version of #71, but with just the breaks filled in
For your other request I've focused and worked on #23. Once we've decided on the amount of black in the bottom corner, we can always change the break colours etc
#76 - all moved slightly to the right and up (have kept the space from the right edge to the p and the top edge to the top of the p the same) #77 - moved slightly more #78 - more again #79 - and even more
Personally I think either #77 or #78 work best. Any more like #79 and its getting too close to the edge I think.
#80 - is #23 but with the jet black colour #81 - I realised that the entire icon/logo mark shape of #23 wasn't quite a square. So with this one I increased the height slightly to make it square ... which also then made the distance from the "P" to the top and to the right the same gap.
