I think I like this one without the smoke. If you could think of a way to more generally add something symbolizing and exposure, that'd be good. Maybe some sort of shapes outside the lung

Not sure about the ones sucking it in. This is closer to what we are thinking.

That's getting closer. We do research on lots of different exposures (e-cigarette, maternal diabetes, air pollution), so maybe you could find a way to make it more general? Alternatively, make the smoke smaller and less a focal point?
