Any way you could think of including something symbolizing the maternal-fetal environment?

No worries. We study how different environmental exposures change the health of the lung. For example, we study how smoking or e-cigarette use damages the lung. We also study how maternal diabetes changes a babies lung health. Air pollution would also be considered an exposure.
