Here is the design I came up with for your alley. After reading your desired aesthetic, I came up with this triangular retro-feeling background. I then added typical starbursts you would see in classic vintage bowling alleys. The colors and fonts can be easily changed, so let me know if either is not quite spot-on yet.I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks!(This comment references Entry #21) 13 years ago Adam Williams Client great layout, this one is a contender. Let me look at it so more 13 years ago Adam Williams Client Look at the #1, can you use the shape of the background he used. It is reminiscent of an iconic sign already existing in the neighborhood. I think your font is much easier to read though, and I like how you made Come as you are Pop in the design. You also need to add "Est. 1960" or "Since 1960" 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer Sure thing! Sorry for the delay--I was out of town visiting family. I will have revised designs posted for you asap! 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer Here is the first of my many revisions, I post the rest as well. Feel free to comment back or let me know if you wish to tweak anything further--I will be online here for the remaining duration of your contest. Thanks!(This comment references Entry #31) 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer In each of these new ones, "Est. 1960" is kind of a subtext without as much dominance as the rest. Let me know if you are wanting this to be bigger and more noticeable and I will rework it. And I am not sure about the orientation of your sign, but the shape in #34 lends itself more versatility with its less horizontal layout. 13 years ago Adam Williams Client #34 is getting close, make the background bigger like the #1 ranked. Also, how would est.1960 look down w/ come as you are Would it pop more? 13 years ago Adam Williams Client oops, i mean #33 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer No problem. Here it is with the subtext all in the bottom area in the same color combo...(This comment references Entry #36) 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer And here it is with reversed colors for the bottom portion...(This comment references Entry #37) 13 years ago Adam Williams Client the slanted background is still my favorite from #32/33 Also can Come As You Are be contoured for the oval shap and made bigger while keeping est. 1960 straight? 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer I like how you think--I was just doing that! ;)See what you think of this one...(This comment references Entry #39) 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer Hi Adam, I just received a message from DeeBee stating I copied his unique sign shape. I need to know if you had requested he use that shape, due to the iconic sign in the neighborhood or not. If he came up with it on his own, then I unfortunately have to refrain from using the same shape. However, if he created it after you requested it, then it is fair game and I can continue to use it as well.Let me know how it progressed, so I can do the proper thing. Thanks & sorry for any inconveniences this may cause. 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer One possible solution here: if you can send me a link to the sign you are wanting to reference with your logo, I can take a look at it and possibly draw a similar shape without copying DeeBee's shape. Let me know if that is something online or something you have access to.Thanks again! 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer Revised version of my initial design, with the new elements added!...(This comment references Entry #40) 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer I did find the sign online that DeeBee mentioned, so I will see if I can come up with my own shaped based off of this without copying his unique shape... More designs to come!... 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer Here is a new design, that I think you will find still references the famous sign while still being its own unique logo. I look forward to hearing what you think of this latest one, as it has all of the previous good elements balled into one refined design.(This comment references Entry #43) 13 years ago Adam Williams Client I like it, but I still like the shape of the old Park Road Shopping Center Sign... 13 years ago Adam Williams Client too busy MAke the background bigger so the text pops. I am adding an actual pic of the Park Rd Sign now 13 years ago Adam Williams Client I just added the pic of the Park rd shopping center sign 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer Here is a revised entry, based on your latest feedback and the sign photo... I will be stepping out for a bit, but will be back shortly!(This comment references Entry #47) 13 years ago Adam Williams Client I still think the background should be bigger, encompassing most if not all of the copy 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer Sure thing, Adam. See what you think of this version... I will explore additional layout options that will allow for it all to fit nicely onto the sign shape.(This comment references Entry #50) 13 years ago GoodGuy Design Logo Designer And here is another possible option, with the text stacked instead of all on one line. I can't decide which I like better at this point, but this allows for it all to fit within the space better.(This comment references Entry #51) 13 years ago
