I like the color. The design doesn't have to be black and white. The chair is very good - though it might be a bit confusing as the San Francisco Improv Festival just came out with a similar logo.
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, after you mentioned it I googled the San Fran Improv festival and saw the logo. If they are "competitors" then maybe we should try something different from a chair but if there is any relationship then it might help to market the collective group, if that makes sense. I have done some touches to the entry currently ranked first. Added more color and instead of white the name is now more of a silver tone. Keep the feedback coming.
another idea. I've had this concept in my portfolio a couple months now with no name attached to it but maybe you'll like it. Honestly, I can't say it has any special meaning to it apart from the happy colors (fun and laughter) and the fact that it's a stylized "P" (Pan).
