Discussion

Thank you for your entries. I really like 102 and 103, so I've ranked them for now. I like them well, so I slid them to the top of the ranking. The other (third) design was interesting and creative, but I felt it was a bit too "busy" for lack of a better term.

I might suggest a potential improvement on 102/103. Use 102 (gold) as the template and try to work some black trim or shading into the icon O so that it ties into the rest of the company name better and makes it more clear that the icon O is the O in Outperform. You might also experiment with making the "utperform" bigger so that the O doesn't appear so "capitalized" versus the rest of the word. Finally, make the "LLC" a little less prominent - try taking away the bold effect and/or writing it vertical beside the m instead of horizontal.

Overall, this is very good and I am please. Please submit revision(s) as above-stated and any other ideas.

Thanks!

Thank you for 132, 133, 134 and 135. I've discarded 133 and 134, but kept and ranked 132 with the smaller LLC and 135 with the black in the icon. These are very strong entries that I will consider further. Thank you again.

Thank you for 138-140. I'm not sure yet where these rank, but they are definitely worth keeping at this point. If I discard any, it's only because I kept the one I feel is my favorite for reference. I will work to rank soon and figure out which of your offerings has the most potential and provide further feedback. Thank you for the creative contributions and please submit anything further.

148-150 are interesting. I will pull them into the ranked group and sort them this morning. I think your later contributions are improvements, so I will likely move some of yours to the discard group - keeping my favorites. I will try to give you more feedback later on the favorites and any changes I would like to see to them. Thank you again. Good work!

Thanks. I am looking now for improvement.

Hi, thank you for 157 and 158. I like your other designs better, and have other options as well, so I will discard these two. Please do submit any other ideas. At this point, I'm describing entries I've been most interested in as "sophisticated simplicity." That means I'm looking for a stand-alone icon that integrates well with the company name and likely has some dimension in the design, but clean lines and not too "busy."

Hi, and thank you again. Of all your entries with the 149 style icon, I like 149 the best, so I will discard 102, 156, 148, 135 and 150. I don't think the icon in 149 serves very well as the O in "outperform" though, so I would ask you to resubmit 149 with the icon to the left of the full work "outperform." In doing so, try a new font for the company name and show the LLC written vertically beside the m...and keep all the letters in the company name "outperform" the same size (small letters). Resubmit 149 with those specs and I'll have a look.

I've decided to rule out 140.

Thank you again.

Good morning. Thank you for 221 and 222. I like them. Since they are similar, I will choose and rank the forward moving arrow design in 222 and discard 221. Below are some comments I've given others about my current thoughts on the design. I welcome any additional ideas you have or improvements on the ideas you've submitted and I've ranked. Thank you again and good luck!

The colors will be gold, black or grey and white.
The LLC will be written vertically beside the m, not horizontally, and will not be bolded.
The font for the company name will be something unique that doesn't just look like Arial...and all of the letters, including the O, will be small letters.
The tagline will be italicized and there will be some emphasis on the words "should be" via an underline swoosh or some other means to bring out those two words.
The icon can serve as the O in "outperform" or it can be separate from the company name, but it needs to be able to stand alone and convey the "outperform" message in its own design. The favorite entries are using graphics that are more 3D in nature and incorporating arrows and other images of growth and performance. The favorite icon is something that is not too "busy" and is sufficiently unique that you don't get the sense that you've seen that before.

Thank you. These are quality entries. I like the ones with the swoosh rather than the bolding in the tagline, so I've discarded 235 and 238. I like the icon better on this design as the O in the company name, so I've kept and ranked 237 and discarded 236. You can see if you can add some black on the bottom right side of the icon to tie it more into the black of the rest of the company name...so it looks more obviously like the O. Although I like the font you have, you can also try one additional "bold" font just for comparison. Thank you again.

Another way you can make the icon look more like the O in the company name is to make it about the same size as the letters "utperform"

Hi! On 237, can you make the O icon the same size as the "utperform"??

Hi! Great design!

Can you rotate the icon to the left so that the arrow effect is pointing up and to the right?
Can you increase the size of the company name so that it is closer to the size of the icon?

The rest looks pretty good. I may want to play with fonts a bit, but it's about what I need with the above changes.

Hi! This design 289 is pretty much final. In the end, I may want to see other fonts that are more "contemporary masculine" for lack of a better way to describe, but I like it pretty much as-is, so I am going to finalize work with my other designers and leave this one ranked for now. If you have any edits you want to submit, please do. Thank you for your work. This design is a very good option that captures what I'm looking for with just the right creative design.

Please take the best of the two designs #289 and #295 and put them together into a revision as follows:

Use the forward momentum icon from #289.
Use the font from #295 where the letters are closer together.
Make the "LLC" less bold-faced, but still black font and about the same size as is.
Flip the swoosh underline emphasis so that the fat part is to the left and the thin part is on the right.

That should do it, thank you.

Also, can you send me one version of the logo as revised from the previous instruction (February 8th, 2014, 12:12pm) that moves the icon into the middle of the company name as the second O in "outperform"? I would like to see whether that is more interesting.

Hello,

I appreciate the updates/revisions you submitted today. I'm not making any further design-specific comments to anyone right now (primarily due to lack of time), but am just sending this message to all as an update.

I have narrowed my favorites to five designs by four designers. On each of the designs, there are likely minor tweaks to get them exactly as I want, but they are close enough for me to pause for a bit, consult others as needed, and spend some time figuring out how to further narrow the options.

As for now, they are ranked top to bottom as my wife likes them. Ha! I value her opinion, so I wanted to start there, but, in the end, it's my decision. I believe my contest ends the Top 5 phase early afternoon EST on Sunday, FEB 9 and goes to the Judging phase. I plan to give some serious thought to each design and then to decision making, so I may not give much feedback or ask for much more for a bit until I'm deciding things.

In the meantime, feel free to submit any other comments or ideas that you may have and I will consider them.

Thank you again.

Austin

P.S.

I think, because of the colors of the icon, it works best as the first O in the company name, so I've kept that one.

On entry #310 can you make the following edits to the tagline and the "LLC"...

I've decided I like the "LLC" in black font, so please make the "LLC" black font, not bolded.
Change the tagline and swoosh emphasis line to black font as well.
Italicize the tagline and do not bold it.
Use a period at the end of the tagline, not an exclamation point.

Thank you.

Thanks! I'm satisfied that #310 is close enough for now to evaluate with other options, so I will move it out of first place to finish work on other designs and follow up later. Thanks! -Austin
