Hi there- I think these designs hold great promise. Entry #11 and Entry #8 look very good. Could you try some alternate line art illustrations in the middle? An old-style typewriter, The LA Skyline, The Hollywood sign and hillside.
There is one other treatment I'm thinking of..."operation' in black bold letters above with a thin vertical line and the hollywood sign in white letters with thin black borders. Interested in exploring the black vs white comparison.
What is it exactly you would like to portray in this logo? Who would be your competitors within your industry? And what are your current favourite styles of writing? Is there a preferred style or treatment for this logo.. I understand you want to see old style line art, however there are many different eras of line art illustration and I would like to narrow down the options to make this task a little more within reach and within a realistic timeframe.. I would like to create something professional for you, but I need to know a few things before I put my heart and soul into this logo, where I could create something a little off target or what you have visualised yourself.
I've put together a logo based on the kind of thing it seems you might be drawn to.. I'm still a bit unsure as to exactly the finer details of what you are looking for.. this logo represents entertainment and utilises the name, in an early times font, the red representing red carpet, and the newspaper could appear or not, I'm not sure you would (or wouldn't) need a newspaper to explain what the aim of this blog is.. I think with sufficient sub titling it would be obvious there is some sort of entertainment industry reporting/journalism going on.. the problem is being what it is without being too much of what it is so that it avoids becoming clip art rather than representative of the idea of what it is to be what it is..an 'entertainment' or 'celebrity' reporting service..
