Hi, My initial concept for your logo, with the dog tags, and the chain forming a treble clef to symbolize music. Happy to make changes and welcome your feedback.
Catherine, I think it is a good start. The treble clef makes me think too much of an orchestra. Most of the music is acoustic guitar based, so what if we made the back dogtag have a guitar neck coming out of it so it, the front dog tag with the 'operation encore' text, and the chain could maybe look like a cable coming out of the guitar? Also, for the font we've been using an all lower-case typewriter font (called 'american typewriter' on my mac). I kind of like that rather than the stencil look. Honestly I'm open to anything, I just want there to be more of a reference to an acoustic guitar, or maybe just a guitar pick. Thanks, Rob
Thanks for the very helpful feedback. I've submitted a couple more designs referencing a guitar pick, and then #6 also the guitar fret. I've put the 'camo' on the dog tag underneath indicating the military. I've also used the typewriter font you like, but a slightly more 'edgy' looking one to give it some character.
Uploaded entries #14 with the chain thicker (let me know if you'd like it thicker still..) and entries #15 and #16 - taken away the guitar frets and added in 'O.E' in a subtle font that emulates the embossing of dog tags.
Catherine - we are going back and forth a bit on your designs...we like them all. I think we still like #16 the best. Can we try it with a camouflage pick (no text on it) and a steel dog tag behind it? Not sure if there would be room for text on the dog tag, but maybe just have it say O.E. In the dog tag font. Getting very close!
Congratulations! Nice work. The only changes we'd like to make to the winning design is to make the pick a little smaller like in #35, and to take the words off of the gray dog tag (keep it simple). We like 'a veteran music project' written under 'operation encore'. We may want to change the color of the pick but will let you know. Hopefully that isn't too difficult.
