I like the effect that it gives. If you end up going with this direction I would supply a solid color variation along with it for instances where you might need something simple or a single color.
Hmmm ok...let's try more of the aqua, and less even on the green...so we can keep the darker blue text.
Can we also see just the 2 color version, with the aqua colored "MORE" and even less green than on this one, in a two color gradient of just the green and aqua? (1 kept as negative space as it is here)
This gradient is growing on me...can we reverse sides, and then increase the amount of the aqua, which would then be on the bottom. We'd need to switch the text colors for the ONE and MORE as well I suppose.
I changed the flow of this design so the icon would read correctly from left to right, showing the hand coming from the top left giving (one less) and the hand on the bottom right receiving (one more)
Here the bottom hand is slightly larger. I used a new blue in this design #359 It's not far off of the prior blue, but it does address the hint of green tinge the other one had.
On these two variations, can we make the bottom hand just a bit bigger, not quite as big as original, but close, and space out the space below and above the 1 just a little with that. I like your colors here better...I'm not totally feeling the aqua color here...maybe a different shade, but not more green? Not sure.
The hands are between the 2 sizes (momma bear sized if we were in goldilocks :)
This design is using the pantones you suggested. #354 is using the colors chosen from the last set.
Also could we see the "royal blue-ish" pantone I posted as the background circle color, with the lime green 1, and the dark blue text as in #350, along with the changes above?
Here are a few new designs. I made the hands slightly thinner. Each design has a different style of number 1 and each has a different color palette for comparison.
We like the new design better. Can we make the "1" smaller, and bring the hands closer together and slightly smaller (toward the center)? Can we see text represented more like design 11 - centered under the logo - with the text on the bottom line (ONE MORE) in bold. We'd like to see the word "FOR" centered, small, and between the two lines of text, with no dividing line.
Do you feel something more like these hands could be worked as negative space like the newer one, but without the heart, maybe one version with it, but the look closer to this? Looking at this as someone who understands design, I know it may be tough to transition the defined lines somehow to make it work as negative space. Some feedback on the other one is that the turquoise background with the hands in white, is nice.
I appreciate the work on the new concepts. I think the original hand concept is still more to our liking. Can we just slightly smooth/stylize the lines in the design?
Here is a fresher, softer approach to the hand concept. The shapes are much more fluid and organic creating a much more inviting feeling. I redesigned the text to fit within a square the same size as the circle. This allows the text to go either along-side #325 or below #324 the design. It can even be used solo if you choose. #323
I will concentrate my efforts on redesigning the hands today.
I'd love a chat on the phone, unfourtunatly the rules of the site prohibit it until after the close of the contest. If you do select my design in the end, I can and will provide you all of my contact info.
Glendon - We're looking to try to refine and make it perhaps a little "soft" or feminine - although not overtly. I think we'd like to see concepts or refinements of this that head in that direction. Also - feedback gathered points toward others really liking the hand concept by you. I feel like the hands still feel a bit "heavy" and blocky, but I don't think we want them to look like the hands in so many charity logos. Would you be willing to work on that one as well? Could we add a text layout below - fairly thin, modern font?
I think this gives us a chance to see some differences and see where this falls in the rankings when we all meet. I think your instinct on the previous one may be right, but hard to know until I saw this. : )
Was this what you had in mind in regards to the "1"?
I am leaving for the night, but I can handle any revision requests tomorrow during the revision phase of your contest. You'll have the opportunity to work with your top 5 designers to zero in on the logo.
Could we see the design large in proportion to the lettering below. Not sure you are hearing us on the font for the 1 - looking to eliminate the "spur" or minimize it greatly at the top of the "1".
Can we see some variations with a more modern looking one - even just a line of similar thickness? Also could we see a couple with the filled circle a little larger (more)?
Same feedback for the 1 as on the other design - no base and de-emphasize the spur, maybe not straight across for the spur. can we very slightly reduce the thickness on the hand/circle lines and switch to red for the color. Maybe one variant with the < on the left, and the > on the right.
We'd like to see all variants with the text on one line - with only the words Less and More bolded, and the word for in a smaller size in relationship.
Could we see this with perhaps a different font for the one, or a custom 1, perhaps without the bottom base/serifs as well as the "spur" at the top of the 1 de-emphasized? We'd like to switch to red for the color, perhaps a little less bright red, and some variants with some slightly larger sizes for the colored circle.
Love that you went outside the box on this, but we're probably leaning away from a heart concept. Would love to see more ideas if you have the time. It is 2pm here - we're meeting tonight as a board to look over the logos and catch up on ranking.
#108#109#110 use a dashed outline heart intersecting/ sharing with a full heart. The icon can be used in a single color also #110
Let me know if there is anything more I can do for you.

*Design a little bigger in proportion to the text
*Go to 318C for the background of the circle
*2290C for the "1" in the circle
*The text in med. dark gray
*Thin line also in med. dark gray spaced away, outlining the circle
*On the text could the bold ONE be in 318C, and the bold MORE be in 2290C, if those look dark enough
Perhaps a 2nd version without the above referenced line

I reduced the weight of the dashed line and made a custom 1. It also works fantastic in a single color.

#112 and #113 suggests the transferring of "one"
