Odyssean TravelLogo Design Contest

Hi!

I've just uploaded source files for you to download and approve. Apart from basic color logo, in layers of .EPS file, I've also included grayscale version, monochromatic black and monochromatic white (negative space) versions,...these also might come handy for some logo applications (print, web, etc.).

Since LT upload engine allows only one .EPS and one .JPEG file, I've also sent entire logo files package on your e-mail, stated on the contract.

Thank you once again for great cooperation,...we did an excellent job with this one.

Here's the cursive script you've suggested,...not the happiest solution to incorporate cursive script into this design, but here it is,...light blue version from #186 on entry #206!

Can we try a more cursive script in 'Travel' alone, not 'Odyssean'?

What was the colour code for the lighter blue used in #186

...slightly stronger font, proportionaly better balanced with logo icon,...few variations on #201, #202 and #203!

I've just uploaded few variations on text/font, including Garamond option,...I've tested few layouts and options without the slogan!

You can check them out on entries #192 - #199!

We liked the Garamond font, but this is nice and bold on the left, what about the right - can you tweak it a bit? Again, trusting your designer's eye for a good choice of something a little more bold for the 'TRAVEL' while we mull over Garamond.

We'll probably lose the slogan in the client / user image...

Certainly, keep the oars. Was just nice to review what it might look like with a little change.

If we remove the oars, that could look like this, but in that case, overall design would loose elegance and some of its dynamic! I still suggest version with the oars,...it indicates togetherness, adventure, "first hand" experience!

...crest of the wave are oars in the sea,...front end of the ship (trireme) is on the right side of the logo icon, so it might be awkward looking, if the oars are directed forward,....would seem unnatural movement, and overall design would loose some of its dynamic! Hope this makes sense!

Looking good, what about the crest of the wave / dip of the wave - can that be reversed?

...exploring one more color combo! ...#186 might be more eye-catching!

Here's version with suggested modifications,...with Greek ship flipped on the right, more positive colors in flat mode and slightly more dynamic waves! ...dark sea and clear blue skies!

...agree,...it gives additional value!

Negative space of any logo is often used (printing/embroidering, web, etc.), so logo must look good in this version as well,...proportional balance is reflected through negative space,...I've uploaded it just to show you this! Hope this helps!

OK,...I've uploaded few color variations, with more emphasized worn-out effect, with negative space versions,...check out entries #117/#119 and #118/#120! This effects adds to adventurous feel of overall design,...something like: "this ship has been places!" :)

Think we still prefer the previous, makes the sky look less ominous!

...and on this update, I've removed Greek meander ornament and entire frame segment,...so this would be more simplified version!

Also, visualy connecting word Odyssean to viking ship might create logical/symbolic conflict within the logo, so that is why I've concentrated on using recognizable Greek ships (google: trireme) and symbolism, and eliminated any other historic ships. Hope this helps!

Hi!

Here are two high quality design concepts, you might find interesting!

On this one I've incorporated Greek trireme ship, with greek meander ornamental frame. Unique design, conveing feel of trust, tradition, adventure and safe travel!

Any thoughts/suggestions? Thank you!
