Dear Designer, thanks you so much for your submission! After carefully analyzing every single logo on the site we've come up with these few things we like and don't like. Please take these into consideration and resubmit updated drafts. Thanks!
1. Logo Wise, The name of the company is Odd Breed so those two words should be primary. Wild Ales is our main style of beer to produce so those two words should take a secondary position in the composition. Then after reviewing your submissions, we've decided that we want our slogan to be there too on a tertiary position. We are still trying to make up our minds on FONT and are not entirely sure on what we're looking for so if possible, please submit your ideas with as many font variations as you can to increase the chances of us finding the one we like. What we do know is that "Odd Breed' and "Wild Ales" should make use of different fonts. Wild Ales in stylized cursive is something we've liked so far.
2. Avatar Wise, we were very specific on our brief that we wanted the cat's back to be facing the viewer. We do not want to see the cat's face at all! Even though we did not specify the position of the barrel, we've decided we want all submissions to use barrels in an upright position, not on its side. None of the barrels we plan on using have spigots so avoid adding one to your designs please. Also, please take into consideration the size of the Cat compared to the barrel, some of the cats are quite large compared to the barrel, it will never be a true size ratio to real life, but the cat should not be the same size as the barrel. We really liked that some submissions have a scenic background! We like that a lot and would like to see more of that, but the background should be more Florida. Instead of Cactuses we could use a palm tree... instead of mountains the sea... the whole thing made me think about oak barrels in an old dock with the cat on top.
3. Composition wise, don't get too caught up on enclosing your submissions on circles, squares, and banner-looking canvases. Focus more on making your barrel, cat, and fonts awesome and on placing these elements in a hierarchical way based on our previous comments. Est. 2015 looks cool on some of your submissions, but it's not a must.
Last but not least, our favorite submissions so far have cats that are a bit more caricaturesque. Take some liberties on your cats as far as making them unique, exaggerate features but not too much. The idea of the Cat comes from the fact that Cats are known to be untamable, wild, and independent. We want our cat to be an imposing figure, almost intimidating.
This few paragraphs have been sent to all of you. I will now personally comment on some of the submissions for more specific feedback.
Again, thank you so much for participating in this contest! We're excited to see more of your work!
Cheers!

We like the artistic feel on these entry a lot. We preferred the design with the avatar and text on opposite sides, and I really like the text on this submission. We wish the barrel and cat were a little more realistic, with some more solid lines. We think this design is close to being excellent.

Hi Pink,

So we had a couple of days off because of the holiday but we're now back at it! Both of us love your design! As of right now there's no real mayor changes we'd like to make to it besides FONT and COMPOSITION. We're very interested in seeing as many FONT options as you can send us so we can choose our favorite. The font you'd chosen for "Odd Breed" is pretty cool, we wouldn't mind seeing other options though. The "Wild Ales" font we're not crazy about so that one is more important. Also, we like how the logo is on the side of the avatar, but you did not include our slogan in there and we'd love to see you try to include it in the design... it's not 100% necessary, but some of the other designers did and we liked that a lot!

On a different note, on our brief we mentioned that we wanted to be able to create stencils to spray paint the logo on kegs, wood boards, barrels, etc. The lines on the barrel will make it very difficult to create stencils if I'm not mistaken, I almost feel like we might have to have two versions of the logo? One to create stencils from and another for print? Can you see any other solutions to this?

Let's work on this for now, other than that I can't think of anything else at the moment!

Thank you soo much for your work!

For FONT selection think Tim Burton

Tim Burton, I love his movies, dark and whimsical!

Back to our project now...
Your feedback was very helpful and I'll submit new versions, with different fonts shortly.
Regarding stencils. I can make a more simple version, with clean lines for this application.
Will be back soon!

Thanks,
Pink

Please check my new versions: #206, #207, #208, #209.
In some versions I retained the current font for 'Odd Bread' and changed the 'Wild Ales' part.
In others I changed the whole text with a different font.
By the way all new fonts have names from Tim Burton's movies!

Let me know which design you prefer in order to proceed with the stencil version as well.

Thank you,
Pink

#210 is the stencil version.
As you'll notice I simplified the design without losing its style.
Text can be replaced with the one you like the most.

Hey There!

We've selected our top choice from your latest submissions. Font used for "Odd Breed" is awesome! We'd like "Wild Ales" to be a bit less prominent and shown with a different font.

Stencil version didn't look that great, I've had very little experience creating stencils so I'm not entirely sure what to look out for. I'll take all the advise I can get from you on this matter.

Once we're settled on Font for Wild Ales, I'd love to see you play with the Slogan and other composition options. Get as creative with it as you want! There were some submissions where they added the Est.2015 that we liked a lot. Again, less is more most of the time but I think you can do it!

Thanks again! Can't wait to see more!

Hello :)
Glad you like the new font!
So, I uploaded some new versions, with "Wild Ales" in different fonts.
Also I added "Est.2015" or slogan. Personally I like "Est.2015" versions because they look more stacked and simple.

To be honest I don't have much experience in stencils either, but I made some research on web and noticed that stencil illustrations have bold simple lines.
It's natural that the stencil version won't be so appealing as the original.
#216 is a new option with more lines but still simple.

Maybe at this phase it's nice to hear the opinion of the printer that is going to print the stencils on the barrels.
You can show him the original and stencil versions and see what he'll suggest.

Thanks!

Hi Pink!

So I think we're almost there! #212 is our favorite right now but we're still not convinced the Wild Ales font is final. Also, legibility on Est. 2015 is pretty low when logo is smaller, we like the FONT but it's very hard to read if used in application where it's shown in a small size. Can we work on that? Other than that we're very happy with results!

Hello!
I made some new versions #217, #218, #219 in which I've made 'Est. 2015' bigger in order to be more legible even in small size.
For 'Wild Ales' I used new script fonts that suit with logo's style.
Please let me know which one you prefer.

Thanks :)
