very nice start. I would like to see it without the nostrils and mouth. Let's try square glasses.

The front tentacle is up too high. Let's try lower and a little more curve to the other tentacles.

I definitely like the improvements. How about we add a line between the O and C to make glasses. I want to see a different shade of blue. More navy. Maybe #003399. Then for the nerd part you can try a few colors and see what you like best. #D68F00, #009960, #008099 The last two are green so it may not go well with the orange octopus but I would be interested to see what you come up with.

I still want to see your octopus without the tentacle in the face.

Needed to withdraw the earlier version of this. The rules of the site don't allow designers to borrow ideas (connecting the o & c to make glasses) from others.

I really do like your octopus especially without the tentacle in the face and I like the glasses from #31. I've been having you change it because I saw the potential. The different colors I had you try didn't accomplish what I thought. It's tricky though because the lettermark is actually the most important part of the logo to me because most of the time it will stand alone.

I really like Indigo's lettermark but you can't copy the OC thing. So, you would need to come up with something to match but I'm not sure I have any good ideas. If you're interested in trying I would try a different font. Maybe try putting the glasses from #31 on top of the OC and instead of having the full octopus, somehow get the logo itself to have more octopus features but not too much just enough to get the idea. It would be a stretch so you should only do it if you're up to the challenge. Here is a thought... what if the OC were a sideways octopus? do you see it? the O is the head and the C is two tentacles. Then you could have a few more tentacles on the top and bottom of the C that extend above and below T and O

I am going to add this idea to the Brief so it is fair game just in case you're not interested in trying.

A new approach, the ideogram version of the character "Oc". text only

back to the orange "Oc". Longer body, up-turned tentacle but not in his face, font designed to mirror glasses.

definitely like the new font and octopus on #75
I still like the glasses from #31 best

let's put the glasses from #31 on #75 and submit one with the red font and one with a blue font.

Thanks for sticking with it.

I do see where you're going with keeping the glasses similar to the font and if I were to choose your logo I would probably want the eps file to have both sets of glasses so I could fiddle with it.

Since moving the eyes up the front tentacle looks much better and it got me thinking. what if you take the text and just have that front tentacle (no octopus). I would like to see the red. I would also like to see a blue version if you think it ends up looking good.

You could leave the tentacle where it is or somehow strategically place it where you think it looks best.

Try putting a ripple or two around the tentacle so it looks like it is coming out of the water.

I do like that a lot. What if the word nerd is the same color as the water? if not that then what if the tentacle were the dark blue and red rather than orange and red.

All I am thinking is that there are possibly too many colors. See if you can create a version with only 3 colors.
