Hello, there is an element of entry #29 that I still like. It's the use of the tag line slogan around the O portion of the design. I'd like to see how the tag lines look with modifications to entries #28, 30, 89, 94, and 99. it would make for an interesting comparison and might look less busy in the O part of the design. Feel free to make the tag lines a different color from the O portion if you wish. I'm eager to see what happens next.
Yes, I really like the new designs, and I apologize for the delay in my response. I'm curious if you can include a color wheel around the "O" in revised designs for entries #135-#138. My wife and I just completed a week-long course in color management theory. A circular color wheel in the O'Signs logo will help my company gain a competitive advantage in the sign business. I'm eager to see the next revisions.
A point of clarification: by color wheel, I mean the colors of the rainbow. Perhaps you may want to make a revised entry with more colors. I'm curious to see them. Thanks.
Here are some designs utilizing the color wheel concept, please let me know your thoughts.
FYI - I've been in the sign business since 1988, I'm don't know if you are just starting out, but if you need any advice or have any questions concerning signs, I'd be happy to discuss.
Hello, I just re-read the brief & noticed that your company will be in Chicago, I don't know how I missed that earlier. Anyway, are you in the city or suburbs? I work for a sign company is Orland Park. Please let me know if you would like to see any more variations. Thanks, Don
Good morning, Don. Yes, I'm just starting out in the sign business. As I currently live in Lincoln Park, I plan to locate the company on the north side of the city. My task this week is to scout out locations. I'm always happy to take good advice.
Your latest entries are outstanding! On entries #156 and #159, I'd like to see a revision with a green "O". I like the use of black and yellow in entry #161 --- the colors contrast so well. Excellent work!
Hello again, Don. My wife had some good ideas. Perhaps you can make some variations on the scripts and fonts used in the "Signs" in entries #160 and #161 --they're great. On entry #162, I'd like to see a reversal; that is, use black print for the tag line and the color wheel as the background.
One bit of advice regarding the sign business, I've found it very beneficial to build relationships (as opposed to building rivalries) with other sign companies, because there may be something that they can't do, but you can & vise-versa.
I completely agree with your advice on the sign business. I've heard it repeatedly from many in the sign business --- no reason to be rivals.
Again, I'm really impressed with your work! My wife and I have suggestions for specific tweaks on many of your latest designs entered earlier today.
For entries #160, #161, #171, and #172, I'd like to see how "Signs" would look in a more normal letter format (as opposed to cursive). I'm also curious to see how an apostrophe would look like outside the larger O (color wheel) portion of the logos. It may make for a unique branding concept.
For entries #159, #159, #161, and #172, I'd like to see variations where "One Place" is not in bold.
For entries #159, #169, and #170, I'd like to see variations where the O'Signs is in black and the tag lines are in white. It may make the O'Signs portion easier to read.
On entry #171, you may want to lower the Signs portion of the script. By doing so, the end of the "g" in Signs splits both rows o the tag line.
I hope that I've not totally over-killed this process. It has been a fun learning experience for me. I appreciate your work.
Thanks for the latest feedback, no you're not over-killing the process, I understand that you want to get it just right. Here are some revised designs : 173 through 179 FYI - on #179 the colors in the color wheel require me to make the tagline in 1/2 black & 1/2 white, if I make it all white or all black, there is not enough contrast. Hope that makes sense. Thanks again & let me know your thoughts on these revisions.
For entries #175 and #177, can you use the same font for O'Signs as was used in entry #89? Can you also arrange the tag line to read "original, outstanding, on time, one place?
For entry #160, can you use the same font for the O and the apostrophe as is being used for Signs. In one version, can the O and the apostrophe be in white and the other version be in black? Can you also arrange the tag line to read "original, outstanding, on time, one place?
Hi Pat, Thanks for the latest feedback. I will be away from my computer today until approx 6pm, as soon as I get back, I will make & submit the new versions. Thanks again, Don
