Here are some of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. One that can be used for additional elements just as watermarks and favicons.
The logo is 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
My week has been going great. How is yours? Thanks for the quick logo designs. I do prefer entry #1 over #2, however we are looking for more of a woods theme (i.e. such as including a pine tree in the design). I do like the round shape of the logo, however we would like a logo that represents "woods". Thank you.
Good to hear, and yep not too bad this side of the world either. Thanks for the great feedback and comments, always appreciated. Actually I've just noticed that mention something about a concept you have in the brief, but I don't see anything uploaded or a link?? Can you post that?
But let me see what can I come up with a woods theme :)
Your welcome. I do prefer the round logo design over the logo concept I had. Some more examples of the Midwest woods include (wolves, moose, birch trees, lakes and creeks). I don't want a busy logo either though. See what you can come up with first. If you still want to see it, let me know.
I really do like concept #3, colors & fonts. Instead of the lilly pads, can we add a White Spruce tree or something of that nature that has a clean look. I would like to keep the line running through the bottom too. Can we enlarge the size of espresso?
Of course not a problem ... This batch has a tree spruce outline in the coloured blocks, the espresso is larger, and I've also show how the logo can work on white, dark and in 1 colour.
I just wanted to add, all my entries are 100% vector, so will scale to any size without the loss of detail, and therefore will work perfectly from small icons on business cards, to big billboards.
I did ... the other designs have all been CMYK which is standard colours for printing. So when you asked for 3 colours I presumed you meant 3 Pantone colours, which would make it literally 3 colours ... And the Pantones I chose are the closest to the original CMYK colours.
I can of course keep it "3 colours" and in CMYK, but it will still be CMYK i.e. four colour printing process.
Did you mean just 3 shades of colours, i.e. dark green, burnt orange and white for instance?
Printing wise, it really depends on country, area etc. Most of the printers around me here in London work both Pantone (special colour) and CMYK - but majority do CMYK. Most places nowadays do brilliant digital printing - which is all CMYK. A lot of places here use Pantones as a special highlight colour.
In terms of pricing again, it comes down to your local printers and how they work. A lot of places here print CMYK and digital which is cheaper. Printing in Pantone means you are printing Litho on a press - which generally can be more expensive.
