Here is my entry. I think it has all the elements you mentioned in the brief. Let me know if there is any way to improve on this idea for you. Thanks. Kyle

Hello Kyle,
I like the mountains and the antlers and the "NIO". What I dont like is that the antlers are set on a typical antler mount and therefore face forward. Here is what I have in mind. The antlers should face up like when a moose is looking at you face to face. When antlers are set on a mount they turn them down to face you.

I would like you to try a mountain with "NIO" written on the base of the mountain. The mountain should be green with a white snowy cap. The moose antlers should come out from either side of the mountain, and should face up like a moose looking at you. Remove the mounting plate completely. The moose antlers can be behind the mountain coming up on either side (left and right). They should also be ivory color. At the base of the logo should also say "Northern Ivory Outdoors"

Another option would be the same mountain with a moose antler silhouette on one side and maybe a caribou silhouette on the other side. Do you think you can incorporate all the antlers of our territory....moose, caribou ant deer?....they represent our "Ivory"

Work with these ideas best you can. Thankyou.

One more thing. It is important that the logo can be embroidered on a cap or clothing.

would it be safe to say you want a very simple design? any design needs to be fairly simple for embroidery...too complex and it won't work.

i will work on your suggestions and upload a new version in the AM.

thanks for the feedback.

here is a version with your requests. i can work on one with the other sets of antlers too, but it might be pretty busy for embroidery with all of them. let me know what you think.
Thanks.

Its starting to look good. Here are a few more comments:
1. Reduce the with of the NIO and Mountains and increase the height of the mountains. Make them a little taller. NIO does not have to be so big....as long as its distinguishable.
2. After seeing both options we prefer you go back to the initial position of antlers....facing forward not upward.
3. The words "Northern Ivory Outdoors" should be bigger.....maybe break it up. Northern Ivory on top and Outdoors on the bottom.
4. Lets keep the 2 variations of antler colors...brown and ivory. This will be usefell depending on background color of shirt....but our first choice is the ivory color.
5. Stick to rich colors....it attracts the wealthy.
6. Yes we would like to see variation incorporating other antlers. Or maybe try putting a deer, caribou and bear silhouette on top of this logo. Half a deer facing right and half a caribour facing left, both joined in the middle. And in the center of the caribou and deer a bear facing forward.
Please do your best with these suggestions. You are doing a great job. Thankyou.

here's a new one. added a little 'spin' to your idea and incorporated the heads of the other 2 deer species in the detail of the moose antlers. Couldn't find a way to fit the bear head in there because it threw it off balance so i included a small shilhouette of a bear at the base of the mountains.

Let me know what you think of this new idea.

Thanks.

We really like how its looking! Can you try something else for us so we can see what it looks like.

option 1. Try putting the sphere back into the last 2 logos.... like you did in your # 21. The words Northern Ivroy outdoors can go either inside or outside the sphere.

option 2. Try placing the silouhetts on top of the logo....want to see what it loks like...we r however concerned it may be to tall....see what you can do.

By the way we like the colors in your # 21 logo. Try just the bear face instead of entire body.

Great work so far. thanks.

#29 and #30 is awesome. The bear paw is awesome! maybe a little smaller...it really stands out? Keep up the good work. Under the deer and caribou something funny is happening......its a visual thing.....it looks like leaves when it really is the moose antlers....maybe close it up a little....i dont know if you know what I mean????

here are those updates to 29 & 30. i think i took care of the 'leaf' issue - also reduced the size of the bear paw.

Let me know if there are any other revisions you'd like to see.

i don't know which time zone you are in, but I will be calling it a night soon. i will be available to do more revisions in the AM for you so if you think of something, shoot me a message and i will make the changes in the AM

Thanks for the continued feedback. Have a good night.

Rich colors.....we want to cater to the rich :) . Thanks and have a good night. i will be working tmrw so my feedback wont be very frequent...but we will work something out. Thanks again.

wanted to show you 1 more for tonight. here is how it would look in all 1 color (i used green but could be any color) i actually think it looks really sharp as a 1 color logo and that can be a good thing for all the different types of garments or apparel this would be applied to.

I am in central time zone, so i guess its a little earlier here (Iowa)...but having a 1 year old, sleep is a precious commodity :)

I will work on some richer color schemes first thing in the AM.

Thanks again.

Good morning Kyle. I am at work and while i have acces to the site I cant open the pictures. I think the server here has blocked access to the pictures. So I will have to extend the contest so that I can provide feedback from my home pc this evening. So far you are in the lead. I do however have a question for you. I was talking with my partner about this. We love the logo and it looks great, however, for branding purposes it may be too large. Im thinking for example of the BROWNING logo. Its a simple deer silouhette and it stands on its own. Is there some way we can create a smaller logo to go with this one (because we would keep this one as well).........something like an emblum that is simple.....and easily recognized that can go on clothing or caps or bumper sticker for example. Take features form this and create a matching emblum. Or are we asking for too much ??? Please give us your thoughts. I will check in on your comments in a bit.

i can tell you that even after a contest has ended, the designer ranked number 1 can still submit designs for your liking. so you could rotate designers in and out of first place to get more revisions to designs, if you wanted to see revisions for multiple designs.

i am very familiar with the browing logo - i used to have one - and yes i agree its a very cool, simple logo.
the rule here is that we cannot offer additional services in order to 'win' a contest.

of course i would be willing to work with you on an alternative, simple design, but i can's agree to do additional work until after the contest is complete....does that make sense??

now if you want me to explore a simpler logo, i can sure do that, but of course you can only pick one logo for your winner.

which element would you want me to focus on? of course to keep it simple we can't use all the elements like in we did in the previous logo.

Client
I understand and that's fair. I would like if you can work on a simpler option then....and I guess at that point we will have to choose either the one we have now or the newly proposed...right? Originally what I had in mind was a logo that had only antlers.....a play with antlers of moose, deer, and caribou = Ivory..... inside a green montain shape =Northern. If you have other ideas and you would prefer letting me know first before you give it a try let me know.... I put in a request to extend the contest. I didnt know we could keep working with you after the contest. Will you be available for back and forth feedback after 6 PM? I can view your designs on my blackberry but its pretty small.....but I can at least try and guide you that way from now till tonight.

i just asked this question in the forums here, and was told its OK to make a simple version, incorporating some of the same elements from the more complex logo.

so i'll get to work on a simple one....i envisinon this as a more simplified moose antler, caribou & deer antler combo, sort of forming a circle around a simplified mountain....probably no reference to bear.

is that what you are thinking?

i will be available tonight for additional feedback, but not until after 8:00 or so, CST.

hopefully it will be easier to see this simple design on a blackberry.

That sounds like it may work...I dont know if there is some way of blending the antlers together
did u look at m2d camo web site we made refernce to in the contest brief?
u may also want to take a look at armando's outdoor expeditions web site.
they may also give you ideas

Do the best you can with these ideas
thanks for the hard work

here are 2 with the antlers - i have to say, trying to fit in all 3 species still make it look busy to me (with all the intricate ins and outs of the antlers) , but let me know your thoughts. i am open to other ideas to make it really simple - but i know you want all those elements included....

its too busy and looks like our orignal logo........can u suggest something?

maybe use 1 of the 2 moose antlers, 1 of the two caribou antlers, 1 of the two deer antlers.......so 3 pieces instead of 6.....
or maybe use only the moose antler.....spell NIO with antlers....

at this point im open to your ideas......I'm stumped.....maybe we need refocus our thoughts differently...we still like the original logo but we need something simple as well that people can easily recognize...like the Browning symbol, like the Bone Collector logo, soemething that you look at once and dont forget it.....

Logo Designer
here is a new idea. very simple. just a moose antler that morphs into a mountain. the moose anter and mountain can be seen as 2 seperate objects or as just a moose antler modified to resemble mountains. let me know what you think of this new idea. if moose are your 'bread and butter' then i think only including a moose antler is OK. personally i think it is the most dynamic animal of the all the previous ones and would be good as a focus point.

let me know your thoughts. thanks.

I think its pretty cool. u think maybe you can mimic a mirror effect of a mountain on a lake.....the moose antler being the mirror image of the mountain on the lake...or visaversa. Maybe 2 mountains with the mirror image on the lake being the full moose rack........if it gets to complicated then stick to it being simple

If you have other ideas please bring them forward as well. Maybe one more original idea.

I think we may be on to something. Thnaks

Kyle,
Just spoke to my partner and he doesnt like this logo so dont want you to waste anymore time on it. We still like your original design best......but like I said we would also like a simple emblum to match. Thanks
13 years ago

Logo Designer
have you thought about using either moose antler as a stand alone image? that way it is still a piece of the overall logo....like using just the deer or caribou side as the 'simple' image for your embroidery? that way people can identify it as yours when they see it alone - not confusing them with two different pictorials?

i will still try to come up with something simpler.

ok heres my last idea - both silhouettes incorporated into a more simplified moose antler - simple enough for embroidery.

what do you think of this version?

Hello kyle,
Sorry I could not get you any feedback. its difficult when Im at work especially when im on the road. If you have other ideas sure lets see them. If not we would like to fine tune #43......put the antlers back to the way they were ("with what looked like leaves under the caribou and deer")...we gave it some thought and it looks more realistic. Maybe detail it a little so that we can distinguish it as being antlers curling up in front of the back antlers. Also we would like to have #43 in the ivory and brown antler options. Increase the size of the deer and caribou (seem to be a little bigger in #32)...we prefer a little bigger. And lastly we would like to see the exact same logo (#43) but with the antlers raised up (like in your logo # 21)....This will increase the height of the logo but I think it will decrease the width a little....this may make it look more compact. Then we will make a final choice. Thanks.

Entry 70, please use the moose antler of logo number 65. In a previous comment, you had mentioned that you may create a matching small version of our principle logo, which now appears to be number 65. We would like to see the small version logo contain the same look and design of the moose antler of logo 65.
In addition, how does it work? Can we have both logos that is logo 65 and logo 70, 65 being our principle logo and logo 70 representing our branding emblem. We also wish to have both logos in both color tones that is ivory antlers and brown antlers, is this possible?

Logo no.70, in addition, please remove the name NORTHERN IVORY OUTDOORS and replace it with NIO.

on the colors: Yes. once you have selected a winner - you get a positive and negative version of the logo (one that works on a colored background and one that works on a tansparent or white background). You are also entitled to a black & white version too - including all the file types you need of each. So yes, you get both color versions.

like i said before, you are only paying for one logo here at logotournament - and i connot legally discuss the sale of an additional logo at this time. after the tournament has ended, you are free to work with a designer as you wish, and can discuss matters like the above mentioned.

hope that makes sense and that you understand.

i will upload a revised #70 with the other antler.

thanks.
