Here are some of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. One that can be used for additional elements just as branding stamps, watermarks, shirt badges/embroidery etc.
I've started in its simplest form, monotone ... I've always been a believer if it works in this, it will work in colour. And also shows that it can work for things like newspaper print etc.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
Dear Angus, would you be able to do some variations of the butterfly graphic? maybe something more beach-y // or what was your thinking behind the butterfly? We showed logos to the team and yours was most liked...but they asked about the butterfly..
I can definitely try other graphics - did you have any specific ones in mind?
With regards to the butterfly ... Well, I wanted to go for something different to make it stand out! But since its a luxury special event venue, and weddings I wanted something that represented a certain elegance, grace and soul which I think butterflies are. Also a butterfly represents change - the way it changes in its own life could also be reflected and seen in a couple getting married i.e. transformation from being single to starting a new life, but now with someone else. In Greek myth, Psyche (which literally translates to mean "soul") is represented in the form of a butterfly. Befittingly, Psyche is forever linked with love as she and Eros shared an endless bond together. A few other key symbols of a butterfly are; Time, Growth, Lightness, Transition and Celebration
Dear Angus, I might not be able to give feedback to finalize the logo according to logo tournament's schedule. If we close the schedule in two days, award you the gold, would you be able to make small weeks for us within a month or so? thanks in advance. sometimes things are out of our control.
