I like where things are going with the newer designs. Let's leave the sax variation - it has too many implications of smooth jazz - and we want to have a broader-base appeal. I like the fonts on the new designs - I'm just wondering if it needs some iconography (in a way that won't make it too busy)? That's the challenge. I think we're on the right track, but we still have a little ways to go in terms of the finished product.
I'm struggling a bit with the sax variation, but will upload this as soon as I have something I think might work.
I did research musical symbols before working on the design and initially experimented with the forte symbol. My sense was that some of your clients (as distinct from your artists) might not immediately recognize the forte symbol as a musical symbol, since it's form is, broadly, that of both an italic 'f' and the florin symbol.
I also felt that using a treble clef/letter f added the sense of 'evolution' to the logo that you were looking for.
That said, I'll work on a variation with the forte symbol incorporated to see whether you feel this works better.
Hi Steve, I like the concept very much. Keep playing around with a few ideas along this line. There's a forte symbol in music that might be a good bet for the 'f'. Also, we're looking for a black background, so please could you switch around the colors.

Thanks for all your feedback.
It's just after 11pm here and I'll be logging off very shortly. I'll come back to this with a fresh perspective tomorrow.
Enjoy the rest of your day,

I am currently experimenting with a variation to this with the tail of the treble clef morphing into a saxophone. The word 'music' will be separate.
Does this sort of concept interest you?

Steve
