Including the club name is essential -- also, I think the tray of checkers suggests an abacus, which is a similarity I never noticed before!

This is nice, but I think it may be too horizontally oriented for our needs.

This has potential. I think we would prefer a more uniform letter-size rather than the 3-D 'squeezing' effect. Keep the colors to black and green for now (no blue). The single checker seems a little lonely - maybe put one on each point or none at all? Maybe we don't need *both* the board pattern and the cube?

This isn't really the look we're going for -- your other design is more promising!
