Comment Activity Albert commented on #156 Thanks for these! 5 years ago jjbq commented on #117 You´re welcome Alber! Yes sure i can. Submited already revisions so you can considerate. If you need anything else just let me know. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #117 Thanks! Could you send a version with all elements in blue, and without the "lighting" effect? Also, the same version but in deep green? Thanks! 5 years ago jjbq commented on #84 You´re right Albert! Thanks for that note on the alignmente! I´ve already adjusted. If you need anything else just let me know. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #84 Thanks for the color changes -- but the alignment still seems off, particularly on 'Club' -- if your draw a line directly down the middle of the logo, it would pass through the 'U' rather than passing between L and U, wouldn't it? 5 years ago jjbq commented on #81 You´re welcome Albert! Thanks agains for the great feedback. Submited updated versions based on your comments, yes u´re right it was a little off center. Anything else you may need just let me know. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #81 Also, looking at the logo again, it appears that the 4 inner circle elements are slightly off-center to the right, and the 'CLUB' letters are not centered at 6 0'clock. Could we firm up the centering a bit? I want to make a good impression when I show this to my colleagues. 5 years ago Albert commented on #81 Thanks -- this is close to what I was envisioning, but could you change the two anchors and the word 'CLUB' back to blue? At that point, I think we will have done enough work on this for Phase 1! 5 years ago jjbq commented on #41 You´re welcome Albert! I apprecaite the great feedback as always. Submited revisions so you can appreciate. If you need anything else just let me know. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #41 Interesting! The grey elements in the center seem like they should be more symmetrical, not tapered (maybe this was leftover from your other "3D" version? Also, I would still like to see what it looks like if that race immediately above 'CLUB' were Silver, not blue. I'm not sure I'm getting across this idea that I'm wondering if all the circular / arc elements in the *Bottom* half are silver and those in the top half are Blue, suggesting two half-checkers of differing colors? Finally, could we see what the anchors look like in a vertical (straight up-and-down orientation?) Thanks for all this work! 5 years ago Albert commented on #42 Interesting idea but I don't think it quite works. Let's keep it "flatter" in the sense of looking at the "checker straight-on. 5 years ago jjbq commented on #23 Thank you again Albert for the feedback. Submited revisions so you can appreciate, please check and let me know what do you think. Anything else you may need feel confortable to ask as always. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #23 Hmmm . . . it does seem that the 'Club' floats around down there a bit. Could we try another approach: What if you remove the EST. 2010 and the checkers from the center area, and instead, put in some semi-circular half-moon shapes to further suggest the depressed center of the checker carving. (If that makes sense?) Then place some blue anchors to both sides of "Club" to add weight balancing "New England." (I don't need the 'EST'). Make all 3 curved elements (arcs, half-moon) in the bottom half silver so that the circle looks like half a blue checker and half a silver checker. But I guess this might throw the balance off and make it top-heavy? 5 years ago jjbq commented on #19 Great Albert! Yes for sure we can, submited my logos revised so you can appreciate. If you need anything else just let me know please. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #19 Yessss...this is getting there! Could we try a little variation. First, try changing the color of the three blue arc elements in the bottom half to bronze color like the big lower curve. The idea is that the bottom half is a gold checker and the top half is a blue checker. Then after that just try removing the 2 arcs on either side of 'Club' and let's see if the resulting empty space is really a problem. 5 years ago jjbq commented on #18 Glad you like the changes Albert! Those tips make all the sense, great eye! Please confirm the designs bellow, it´s more balanced: #19 As always feel free to ask if you need anything more. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #18 Nice . . . could we try it with the lower half of the inner ring in bronze color? Also I think the highlights on both rings should be aligned directly across the centerpoint, shouldn't they? It seems the lower one is too close to "6 o'clock" compared to the upper left one (or am I seeing things?), and the inner ring is more 12 and 6 o'clock -- should they all be at 10.5 & 4.5 o'clock? Last for now, can the letters in 'Club' be tightened up so they look consistent with 'New England'? 5 years ago jjbq commented on #16 I appreciate your feedback dear Albert as always. Please check revisions bellow and let me know if it´s all okay: - #17 | #18 - the only difference between them is the inner circle is more bolder and with highlight effect in #18 If you need anything else just let me know. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #16 Forgot to mention -- in the U.S. "EST." is the usual abbreviation for "Established." (No 'd') 5 years ago Albert commented on #16 This is a definite improvement and again very promising. The two colors suggest the two opposing sets of checkers nicely, though the all-blue version may turn out to be preferable. The rendering of the 3D effect at lower right seems a little out of scale (rubbery?) -- it might be that a simple highlighting effect as in upper left might serve better. Perhaps the inner circle could be provided a greater sense of depth somehow to bring out the sense of a carved checker - - but perhaps these are refinements for later in the process? 5 years ago Albert commented on #15 Just discarding this one for sake of economy since it's just color differences. 5 years ago jjbq commented on #3 Hello Albert, Hope you´re having a great day. Thank you for your great feedback on my logos. Submited a few variations for your appreciation, please check and let me know what do you think. If you need changes feel free to ask please. Your feedback is always welcome. Thank you. Kindly Regards, João 5 years ago Albert commented on #2 These 3rd and 4th designs have some appeal, but are maybe a little too 'fussy'. The 'Est.' detail is a nice idea given our history, but I don't think we can afford the space for it given our other graphical priorities. 5 years ago Albert commented on #4 I like the idea of the anchor-detail as a lunette, but when I look at this one I think of Prince's electric guitar before I think of an anchor. 5 years ago Albert commented on #3 This one is promising, but would benefit from being more "backgammon-y" in the graphics -- it seems a little generic as you could really put any word in there and there logo would work (tennis, bridge). One idea would be to make the circle suggest a backgammon checker somehow -- I've uploaded a couple more pictures with carved checkers. Another idea would be to demote the anchor from the main image to replace the 3 stars with 3 anchors? But I like the balance and overall impression here. 5 years ago
