I hear what your sister is saying, but I think because we have the line under the name, it holds it together ie sub consciously the name is within the board. No problem, will space out the club name a bit. Cheers Angus 5 years ago Albert commented on #137 Withdrawn This iss fine-tuning again, but does the top element seem to be 'floating' above the NEBC a bit, and could the full club name benefit from a little more breathing room (is it looking a little squished?)? maybe play with spacing a bit. 5 years ago Albert commented on #169 Withdrawn Oh thanks -- this looks nice! 5 years ago Angus commented on #170 Withdrawn And here is an alternative of this one where I've made the triangles alternate in colour from green to blue 5 years ago Angus commented on #169 Withdrawn And here is this one with the new font and checkers firmed up! 5 years ago Angus commented on #82 Withdrawn No problem at all, coming right up! 5 years ago Albert commented on #82 Withdrawn Could you deliver a version of this 7-point version either the new text font and with the checkers firmed up? Worth a second look! 5 years ago Angus commented on #137 Withdrawn My pleasure! 5 years ago Albert commented on #137 Withdrawn Thanks -- I think both these solutions are improvements on the original! The chopped-off points don't work. 5 years ago Angus commented on #137 Withdrawn And here all aligned, kept rounded but changed the font - similar feel to the other one but with rounded edges. 5 years ago Angus commented on #136 Withdrawn Same as the previous one ie all aligned but I've squared off the triangles as well. 5 years ago Angus commented on #135 Withdrawn And here is one where all elements are aligned on the sides, frame edges are now straight but the triangles are still rounded! 5 years ago Albert commented on #122 Withdrawn thanks! 5 years ago Angus commented on #123 Withdrawn And here is one in greyscale - all using only 1 colour black, but shades of it. 5 years ago Angus commented on #122 Withdrawn And here is one where its 100% black throughout. 5 years ago Angus commented on #110 Withdrawn No problem, coming up! 5 years ago Albert commented on #110 Withdrawn Could you send a b/w version? 5 years ago Angus commented on #110 Withdrawn Excellent! Hope the committee like it as well! 5 years ago Albert commented on #110 Withdrawn Hey, this looks good! 5 years ago Angus commented on #110 Withdrawn And here is another iteration, also checkers firmed up, but made bigger as well as the triangles made slightly wider. Cheers Angus 5 years ago Angus commented on #109 Withdrawn And here is a version with the checkers firmed up! Cheers Angus 5 years ago Albert commented on #83 Withdrawn Oh, no, glad you asked. -- not the gaps between the points, the gaps between the *checkers*. When checkers are placed on the board during play, they are in stacks, with the edges touching, not with gaps between them. You may find in making this change that it makes sense to change the triangle proportions as well, so use your best designer's judgement as to how to make it look best with that requirement. I anticipate that having the white discs touching is going to make for too much unbroken whitespace, but I think my colleagues will need to see this for themselves. Does that make sense? 5 years ago Angus commented on #83 Withdrawn Hi there. No problem but to just to clarify to make sure I do it right, I’m going to close the gap between the triangles but at the top ie the widest part? I’ll do this first thing in the morning (I’m based in the UK and have stopped for the evening). Have a great rest of your Friday. Cheers Angus 5 years ago Albert commented on #83 Withdrawn Hi Angus -- passed this by to my colleagues and they had the same question about the checkers not being "firmed up" at the top of each point rather than having gaps between them. Could I trouble you for a version like that? It's the only way to confirm that it's better as-is (which I suspect). 5 years ago Angus commented on #83 Withdrawn My pleasure! 5 years ago Albert commented on #83 Withdrawn Thanks - much better! 5 years ago Angus commented on #83 Withdrawn And a larger version of this entry as well! 5 years ago Angus commented on #82 Withdrawn And here is a larger version of this entry! 5 years ago Angus commented on #74 Withdrawn Hi there, Thanks for the feedback on all my entries! No problem at all completely understand on the ranking front. Will upload a larger square one in a moment. Cheers Angus 5 years ago Angus commented on #60 Withdrawn I there. To be honest I also prefer this one, as its easier on the eye and slightly less busy. With regards to the spacing - no problem at all, let me make them bigger and resubmit for you. 5 years ago Albert commented on #74 Withdrawn Note -- the size of this design looks fine in the logo gallery -- it's just your square ones that look smaller. 5 years ago Albert commented on #60 Withdrawn Say -- one more comment -- When I look at all the logos in the contest page, this one (and the 6-point variation) appear substantially smaller than the others -- you have a large white apron around the design. As a result, I don't think you get equal visual impact compared to neighboring designs. Could you submit somewhat larger versions? 5 years ago Albert commented on #74 Withdrawn By the way, both your designs are in my 'Top 5' of designs, but for now at least I want to keep 5 different designers in the top 5. Nice work! 5 years ago Albert commented on #74 Withdrawn Terrific. I think this is 'good to go' for Phase 1. Thanks for these thoughtful revisions. 5 years ago Albert commented on #60 Withdrawn While the 6-point version of this logo is more "real looking," I think this one is more visually appealing -- maybe because your brain has fewer details to process. I'm glad to have both options to share with my colleagues. 5 years ago Angus commented on #73 Withdrawn My pleasure! 5 years ago Albert commented on #73 Withdrawn Thanks -- this is a nice version! 5 years ago Angus commented on #74 Withdrawn And an iteration of this one - changing the checkers, adding a sheen to it and also an edge/rim. 5 years ago Angus commented on #73 Withdrawn And here is another iteration, but this time spacing the checkers out ever so slightly, giving things a bit of breathing space. 5 years ago Angus commented on #72 Withdrawn Here is a revised version of this one, with the positions of 321202. 5 years ago Angus commented on #63 Withdrawn Hi there! No problem at all, will amend the numbering on the checkers. 5 years ago Albert commented on #63 Withdrawn Ah! Adding room for a third checker does make this a little more "accurate" looking, though I miss a little of the "airy" look of the original. Could we try 321202 on the checkers? 5 years ago Albert commented on #64 Withdrawn Big improvement win the checker arrangement! Can we try 02210 on top and 00120 on bottom? I don't think the 3D effect on the circumference is quite what we want -- Let's stick with viewing the 'checker' dead-on. Could anything be done with the outer ring to suggest more of an edge or rim? 5 years ago Angus commented on #63 Withdrawn Closing the gap between the checkers a bit! 5 years ago Angus commented on #60 Withdrawn There's not really a word for it, but I suppose the one thing that I'd say it that its an "all encompassing logo" ie it combines an icon with or within the wording great one element. Hope that helps? 5 years ago Albert commented on #60 Withdrawn Great. By the way, can you tell me the general name for this style? I can't quite place the word -- not really Nouveau , Deco, Arts & Crafts . . . what's the word? 5 years ago Albert commented on #62 Withdrawn This is a nice circular design, which can suggest a backgammon checker. Is there is a way to convey this suggestion more strongly without resorting to cheesy '3-D' effects? The symmetry of the two checkers on the field seems maybe a little peculiar -- they seem a little "lonely." 5 years ago Angus commented on #60 Withdrawn Hi there! Glad you're have a great experience with the process, that's how it should be :) Thanks for the great feedback and ranking, very much appreciated. I can definitely experiment with making the checkers closer - can't hurt to see what it does to the overall look and feel. Cheers Angus 5 years ago Albert commented on #61 Withdrawn Handsome, but perhaps gives too much of a nautical impression. With the anchor present, the circle suggests a life-preserver! 5 years ago Albert commented on #60 Withdrawn Hi! I'm having great fun with this process! I find all three of your designs immediately appealing, but this one in particular is a favorite. I hesitate to say anything because it is so well balanced as it is. At first glance I wanted the checkers to be compacted, without spaces between as they would be on a board, but then we would lose the little bits of green that are so appealing. I like this a lot as it is! 5 years ago Angus commented on #60 Withdrawn Hi there, Welcome to Logotournament - I hope this finds you well and having a good week so far? Here are some of my concepts. I've created concepts that are simple, yet striking and unique! The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed. It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts. Regards, Angus 5 years ago
