What We Do
A school that engages and educates students in an intergenerational curriculum and community to create lifelong learners and empowers them to be engaged citizens.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Near West Intergenerational School (NWIS) is a “satellite” school of The Intergenerational School (TIS) and the two graphic identities must be related. NWIS uses the intergenerational educational model established by TIS as the basis for its curriculum, but reflects the individuality and culture of Cleveland's near west side. (see jpeg attachment in "images/documents that might be helpful" section for copy of TIS logo).

Our Ideas & Additional Information
Vision Statement: The Near West Intergenerational School will create an environment that empowers learners of all ages, encourage awareness of and involvement in the social and physical fabric of our Near West side neighborhoods, and contribute to the sustainability of our local economy and communities.

Mission: The Near West Intergenerational School will provide a safe, high-quality, local school that will develop independent thinkers, encourage civic engagement through environmental sustainability and social justice in partnership with parents, residents, and other institutional stakeholders, and will serve as a community anchor for the Near West side.

#1 I love how this references the TIS logo but is still different. It looks a little too scientific to me, like a diagram of a molecule.

#2 I think this is a strong reference to the TIS logo and I love the use of the stylized figures, but I'm not sure how this would translate in black & white. I also feel the "near west" font is just a little too heavy.

#2 Could you make a version with less color? I personally like the varied colors but feel it would better reference TIS if we used less color. Also, I'd love to see a version with a font family closer to TIS's.

#5 Interesting how the negative space becomes more prominent when there's four people instead of five. It starts to look like a puzzle piece or cross. Puzzle piece is o.k. but we'd like to avoid a cross. I'm curious how it would look with three. The type seems condensed to me, could we see it a little lighter and more open?

#9 I like how this is progressing. I would like to see a version with a white background and blue, orange, and white people. I like this font family better but still think the letters are very close together, can we see it with a little more space in between each letter?

#11 That is very good. It communicates the logo of our sister/model school, while being distinct. Would prefer a different color scheme, perhaps green.

#12 I think this is a good incorporation of the green, but would prefer a different green. Seems a little too lime colored.

#16 & #17 An interesting interpretation and I appreciate the thinking beyond the circle, but feels a little too corporate.

Hi! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.
