We are going to go with the logo currently in the first ranked spot. It was a hard decision, and it really came down to the fit with the brand character. My wife and I really have a bit more whimsical taste, which your logo really captures. But as we envision launching this brand and eventually selling it, we went with a choice that is a bit more straight forward.
Thanks so much for participating in this contest. I really enjoy working with you!
Hello Doug,
You are right, in selection phase you can swap the ranks if you want to.
Thank you for your guidance and continuous feedback during the contest, I enjoyed the process.
I've narrowed it to the two of you. I'm going to sleep on things and come back to this later tomorrow (it's a holiday here today). I love where this landed - and I'm a big fan - so just wanted you to know that I have not made a final decision even though we are going into the selection phase. My understanding is that I can swap the ranks until a final winner is declared.
These are three color versions, brown like maple syrup, golden like honey, and one that is berry colored, #648, #649, #650.
I am at your disposal if you want changes.
Thank you,
Mima
So, what I actually would want to see is like in 594. Against various color backdrops. One that is brown like maple syrup, one that is golden like honey, and one that is berry colored. Thank you for your patience with me.
I like the modification of the bear, like the color options. Still contemplating the shape. And yes, so the logo will be in white and the product will be seen through the label to provide the contrast color. Can you show me each of these like you have it in 470? Thank you!
Have a good month Houg :)
Your feedback was helpful.
I've changed the color combination to avoid any association with the USA national park service.
Also I modified the bear in order to look more with a black bear.
I suppose the product categories can be written under the logo.
According to your photo your packaging will be glass bottles, jars, etc. and the logo will be applied on white color, is that correct?
First big comment, is that brown and yellow is what the us national park service uses in all of its signage (also sans serif type). And smokey the bear is one of their icons, so this color combination with the bear unintentionally takes to an association I don't want to have.
The next comment is that I like the new bear more. The one issue is that the bears in Vermont are Black Bears, and this coloring (neck/collar area) I think is more common in brown bears, which you find more out in the western United States.
Finally, I would move 607 into favored spot, but for now, let's keep the Vermont and Est. 2024 in place. I think we'll find another way to describe the product categories.
Let me know what further direction I can give to help.
Here is a slightly different option for your different product/flavor names, #594
I placed the name of the product inside the curved ribbon and I replaced the Est. 2024 with Vermont.
I am back to work and I made revisions #589 & #590.
As you see in #589 I used two colors, dark brown and warm yellow.
In #590 I used white color, as in your current packaging.
Since most of your products have dark, earth colors I think it will look nice.
Sure I will incorporate some color to my design and also try a different bear.
At the moment I am for some errands but as soon as I get back I will work on the new versions.
Thank you!
Thank you! If we were to introduce color into the logo, how would that be incorporated. Would also love to see some further exploration on the bear pose/illustration.
Other than that - the only other thing I will be evaluating these on will be how they end up on packaging with different product/flavor names. Let me know if you have any thoughts or questions that you want to share..
Thanks for doing the new bears. I like these better than the cartoon version. I like the one with the bees and berries the most at the moment. I'll move that up in the rankings. I'll keep the dog version in the rankings but will be moving it out of the top 5. Thank you!
Thanks for pushing the exploration with other icons. I would love to see one with a bear. They are notorious for eating our fruit, getting into our bee hives, etc. Doesn't have to look scary - maybe content, or self satisfied, or full. :-)
Revisions #339 & #340 in which I used the icon of a white-tailed deer that lives in Vermont area.
I thought that it was better to use a deer instead of a bear because it's more friendly and at the same time gives the sense of the wild nature.
I did some research on the internet about the wild life animals that live in Vermont.
A bear, which has a sweet tooth, might be a suitable icon...
Otherwise I might use a dog icon in order to have a connection with your other brand.
I like these. Moving the other to not interested, just so I can start to get organized with my rankings, but this is a strong contender. Might not go with the maple leaf, as we will be more than maple syrup. curious what else might live there?
I am glad to participate again to one of your contests.
Here are my concepts #208, #209, on a white and dark background in order to see how they will apply on your packagings.
I have played with the idea of a dripping topping which shapes a mountain.
