I've imagined orange, blue, and white, but I don't want that to limit the designer. I'm open to anything and everything, when it comes to colors.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I would like a cartoon version of myself that looks like a stereotypical "nerd" or "dweeb" (maybe with glasses) but also has a sort of "cool" element to him - perhaps a backwards snapback cap on? Perhaps he's also wearing a lab coat with a t-shirt and jeans, while holding study materials? Essentially, I'm thinking: a cool smart dude who likes science. I'd like the character to be smiling or laughing, so as to convey joy for science. I'd also like the words "Moof University" to be somewhere in the logo. I had a thought about using the lenses of the glasses as the "O's" in "Moof." So, if that can be incorporated, that would be great to see, but it definitely would not deter me to see the words above, beneath, or beside the character, completely away from the glasses.

That aside, I'm also a tutor, and I'm often using a whiteboard during tutoring sessions. So, perhaps that can be incorporated when thinking about this character?

A friend of mine turned a photo of me into a cartoon, attached as "Moof University Cartoon." Perhaps that can be of use to look at, so that you can see what I might want my character to look like.

I recently stumbled upon another YouTuber, PatrickJMT, who has a cartoon version of himself, which is similar to what I'm imagining. Here's a link to an image of that (I do not own the copyrights to this image): http://patrickjmt.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/patrick_toon.jpg

I'd like something similar, but hopefully it looks a bit more like me in the "Moof University Cartoon" image attached. Also, I'm about 6'1" and have a somewhat lean athletic build, if that helps when thinking about the character's frame.

Discussion

I like the lab coat, as well as the font and colors, but I do not like the mustache. Also, I do not like the smile without teeth. The closed lips are okay, but I'm not thrilled about it. It makes the character look bored. Maybe some straight white teeth smiling would look nice. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about the glasses having round rims. I'd like to see them looking more rectangular. In addition, the eyes in the highest ranked logos (thus far) seem sleepy or bored. I'd like them to appear to be more excited. After all, the hope is to convey excitement for science. Also, though I do like the lab coat and the direction in which that character is going, I do not want the background to contain anything from my videos. Ideally, I'd like to keep the background transparent, especially as I'd like to place the logo on clothing. The round bottom flask looks kind of cool, but I don't want it being held in front of the character's face. Also, I really am interested in seeing what a backwards hat would look like on this character. Thank you for the visuals, though! Overall, I like what I'm seeing, and I'm hoping this will continue in a direction that will leave me with a logo I really like!

#15 designed by ibot - DUDE, that character looks so much like me! The character is pretty much perfect! Excellent work! However, I'd definitely like to see the words "Moof University" somewhere. Also, if it's possible to maybe see that character with a backwards snapback cap, that could be cool. Otherwise, I really have no complaints at all about the character. Absolutely stellar!

#9 designed by musicalryo - LOVELY! I love the use of the whiteboard; I ADORE the play buttons in the O's of Moof University! I also love the character. He's looks excited about science, and he looks nerdy and cool - precisely what I asked for! The backwards hat is great! The only problem is that he doesn't look too much like me. I'd like to see the character look more like the JPG I attached as "Moof University Cartoon." If you can make that happen, I'd surely be wow'd. Thank you so much for your efforts thus far! I also like #10 and #11, but again - I'd just like the character to look more like me in the attached cartoon.

For all designers, there are some requirements the design must adhere to (PLEASE):

Digital Designs:
Highest Resolution DPI = 3000 x 3000 pixels

Vector Designs:
Minimum Line Width = 1.5mm (0.6in)
All Curves/Anchor Points Must be Closed
Max Limit = 2000 anchor points per color

I don't know what anything of that actually means, but I need any and all designs to work with those requirements so that I can place the logo on clothing.

#12, #13 - I like the characters, and I appreciate taking into consideration the what I said about the O's in Moof University, as well as what I said about the backwards hat, but I don't like that the characters look nothing like the cartoon version of me in the JPG I attached.

#14 - Again, I appreciate the attempt to incorporate elements I mentioned, but I really want to see the actual character looking like me.

#16 and #17 by Changcute - both designs are cool, and I appreciate the effort to incorporate the slogan, but the character doesn't look much like me in the cartoon image I attached. He's pretty gigantic, and his neck is huge. He almost looks intimidating. I think one of the main things I'm hoping for is to have the character look a lot like me in the cartoon image, as far as the face goes, and then a somewhat tall and lean, laid-back, cool scientist with a relaxed, but happy face.

TO ALL DESIGNERS: I've realized that the character looking like me in the "Moof University Cartoon" JPG i attached is a VERY important factor in my decision. The more it looks like that character (and like me, as an extension), the more likely it is that I will like that design. I've also realized that I really want the fact that I make YouTube videos to somehow be creatively incorporated into the designs. That's also very important. Incorporating that into the design is essential, I feel, to success.
