Below is the meaning of my logo proposal for mm-goi.
The logo consists of stylised word of mm-goi known as wordmark. As you requested, I changed the dash (-) separator to asterisk (*), and take advantage of it to make it look like a flower to represent the feminine character of the brand. I use the six-pointed asterisk instead of five-pointed asterisk, as five-pointed asterisk will look like Bauhinia Blakeana flowers of Hong Kong national emblem/flag which is forbidden to incorporate in any non-governmental uses. This flower does not mean to represent any specific flowers, but rather to represent the feminine character of the brand.
The "O" letter with a dot inside it is a symbol of a button, which represents high tech products that mm-goi produce. (You just need to click a button to do anything with high tech products). The typeface in grey represents sleek, quality, elegant, simplicity, and luxury in high tech products. (I choose to use the "MM" in capital as small "mm" letters will make it similar to other entries).
Other than basic logo in grey (#11 & #12), I uploaded some examples (#13 & #14) in which you can customise the flower and the dot with other colours depending on your product types or themes.
Thanks for reviewing our entries and I'd love to hear your feedbacks soon.
Thanks for putting a lot of thought into the design of the logo, that's really interesting and very much appreciated.
In terms of the design itself it looks nice, a couple points to feedback:
1. Because our website is actually www.mm-goi.com, we'd like for this to be more clear. Happy for this to be done separate to the logo itself to incorporate the flower design but I don't think this is clear enough as it currently is.
2. The font itself is a bit too soft around the edges. While yes we are straying away from hardcore tech I think the flower already incorporates a more feminine edge.
3. The pink / blue flower I think is a little too much also - white and grey is perfect.
Once again thanks for the efforts and we are looking forward to your further updates.
2. I changed the soft-geometric style typeface to a humanist type of typeface. It is now slimmer, which has a balanced high-tech and feminine characteristic, unlike the previous ones that looked too feminine. The flower types are now available in various shapes for you to choose.
3. The logos are now all in grey, but you can ask me if you want to see coloured examples of the logo. Also based on you public comment, I added the emblem shape in 10 of these new design updates. The shape has sharp edges and a soft curve which I think suitable to make the whole logo look refined and elegant. The solid and outline badge is available for you to choose.
Thanks again for reviewing our entries, and again if you have more feedbacks, I'd love to hear it.
