What We Do
Mizzou Asphalt Pavement Innovation Lab, MAPIL, is one of the most comprehensive asphalt programs in the world delivering world-class asphalt materials education through undergraduate and graduate asphalt and pavement engineering courses as well as continuing education programs for the asphalt community. MAPIL performs research into the next generation of flexible, sustainable materials to solve critical transportation problems. These breakthroughs help our roads last just a little longer and hold up a little better to wear and tear to save taxpayers money while improving driving conditions.

Our Ideas & Additional Information
Our acronym MAPIL should be prominent in the logo. Our full name should be included though smaller: Mizzou Asphalt Pavement & Innovation Laboratory. We're not opposed to designs without the MAPIL acronym.
Emphasize Asphalt and Innovation in our name when possible.
We pronounce MAPIL "maple". Because of the pronunciation, we feel it may be effective to use a maple leaf in the design though we're not married to the idea. Asphalt is one of the greenest, most recycled products in the world. It's sustainable and our research furthers the sustainability of the product, enabling roads to last longer and save taxpayers money.
We would like to stick to a design that is more scientific in nature. We are a testing and research facility. Many logos in our industry are curvy roads and we'd like to stay away from that particular style. We would like a memorable logo that would reflect our forward-thinking technology.
We prefer a title case text treatment over an all-caps logo. We don't any fonts in cursive or calligraphy. We prefer a sans serif or mixture or sans serif and serif fonts.
