What We Do
The Missouri Water Resources Research Center was established in 1964. There was a movement to open a research center in each state.
The mission of the MoWRRC is to serve the State of Missouri and the nation through innovative research on water and environment sustainability issues, problem-based education for students, and service to the state and the communities.
Our objectives are:
*Establish research programs to aid in understanding and solving Missouri’s and the nation's water problems.
*Provide education opportunities in research for students with an interest in water resources and related fields.
*Be actively dedicated to the dissemination of information through all aspects of the media.
The Missouri Water Resources Research Center (MoWRRC) was established in 1964 following the enactment of the National Water Resources Research Act. This act created a national network of 54 research centers which provide the nation with a coordinated effort to solve state, regional and national water problems. The program is supported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The MoWRRC’s primary purpose is to sponsor and administer research projects on the state’s water, and related land-use environmental problems. The federal research dollars administered through the program are available to all universities in Missouri.

Color Preferences
We would like to use cool colors. Utilizing blues, greens, and browns. We want it to really look like water and the environment. We are open to black or grey lettering. Feel free to use a warm accent color if it fits your design.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We would like to create a logo that is consistent with the MOWRRC’s mission and uniquely identify the center in a professional way. It would be nice to have some of the following elements in the logo, however, they are not all required.
1. Missouri map
2. Missouri river
3. Water and Environment
4. Draught and flood (balance)
5. Education and Research
We are open to using our acronym MOWRRC or having the words written out.
If there is an emphasis placed on some words those words should be 1. Water 2. Missouri 3. Center.
We want to have imagery in the logo in the form of an icon or picture. We are open to a badge style logo or an icon and typography.
We have attached a few logos from organizations that appeal to us as well.
