#10 I really like that you've incorporated the planet Saturn in this submission! What if we made the dot (crater) on the Mimas Moon red for effect and moved the planet Saturn to the background and made it bigger for scale? Let's experiment...

#3 Thanks for this first submission! What if we added red to the Mimas Crater for effect? Won't you please experiment with an arc across that background and some rings to illustrate the planet Saturn's horizon? Let's see how that looks...

#11 and #14. These look great! What if we added some texture/shading to the Mimas Moon to make it appear more spherical and cratered like the real moon? I see that the arc that was added really looks like Saturn's rings -- Could we try experimenting with a larger arc running in the opposite direction to look like Saturn's horizon far-off in the background?
Pehaps a small black triangle in the center of the red dot crater would look like the impact cone on the real Mimas Moon?

This picture may give some ideas.... http://www.bisque.com/tom/seeker/images/mimas-saturn.jpg

Thanks a million; this is really fun....

Thank you all for these great submissions!

I've not quite decided on an abstract logo or a more literal one.....there are several of each in my top ten!

It seems that I'm gravitating (no pun intended) toward a design with a literal Mimas Moon, but an abstract or exagerated crater impact....

I hope this helps all of you in some way!

I like what I've seen so much, that I MAY extend the contest....

All....

I'm extending my contest to now collaborate with my collegues to make the final selection.

I intend to do that on Friday afternoon 5/29/09, Central Day-light Savings time; -5 hours Zulu UTC GMT.

Thank you all for the great submissions -- this was very rewarding for our company. I hope that is was rewarding to you.
