Hi! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.

The first three submittals look good, and I sort of like number one the best. Good choices of colors. Just a comment about the bug drawings to date- we included a photo of the weevil beanie mascot we've been using. The beanie baby is something that many of our clients seem to love. Not sure if it's the 'cartoony' aspect or what, but they seem to love the Jimmy Duranti nose and overall feel of it. It seems to soften the resemblance of the insect to a tick or some other undesirable insect. Although not anatomically correct, a fatter nose and fatter shorter legs on the bug drawings may be helpful. Also, if you are going to draw a plant, milfoil is very slender and feathery. May be helpful to search google images for a line drawing. Thanks for the great submittals so far!

We are looking for a logo that enhances the eco-friendly/organic aspect of the milfoil solution. Please look at "random's weevil" attachement in our specs and try incorporate more of a organic feel to the logo.

Thanks to all the designers who've submitted entries to date. We are very pleased with the diversity and ideas that have come in. With a day to go, we thought we'd re-rank them and provide some additonal insights into our rankings.
Logo#19. We like a number of things about this, but would suggest making the plant look more like milfoil. We've attached a new photo to the briefing that may help. We would also suggest making the nose a little smaller and skinnier. Same comment on the legs. We like the line in the middle, but anything you can do to make it look less like a butt crack would be good. Finally, please capitalize the M and the S in the word.
Logo#23- We were really glad to see something different from the cartoon approach. We like the simple stylized design, but would suggest some changes to the insect. When you see it, we want to immediately think 'insect' and we don't right now (kind of looks like a lightbulb or something). Consider doing a side view silhouette.
Logo#14- We liked this lettering the best of all entries. We also like the shading on the insect. We would like to see a somewhat larger plant growing upward and wrapping around the outer edge of the circle. A couple of other variations- maybe move the circle to the end of the words, and try leaving it in the current position but rotate the weevil so that it faces the words.
Logo #25. Again, we are happy to see a very original design come in like this. We like the technically accurate drawing, but the insect has 3 legs on each side! Also, it strikes us as too busy- reduce the plants to a couple of sprigs of milfoil. Also suggest capitalizing the first leeters of each word.
Again- thanks to all!
