What We Do
The Manitoba Interdisciplinary Lactation Centre (MILC) is a research consortium dedicated to understanding the biological and societal factors that influence breastfeeding, and the mechanistic basis for the health benefits of human milk feeding for mothers and children.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
**Please also see attachment for visuals to inspire or stay away from**
- Our website https://www.milcresearch.com/ includes some "tree of life" images that portray the act of breastfeeding. This is one possible inspiration for a visual.
- We could adapt the universal symbol / icon for breastfeeding
- Could portray a drop of milk containing different molecules
- A key thing about MILC is that we are INTERDISCIPLINARY, studying breastfeeding from many different angles (biological components of human milk; socio-emotional aspects of breastfeeding; how society and policies impact breastfeeding) and using different methods (statistics, big data, laboratory analysis, surveys and interviews)
