Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please check all comments posted on contest page. No piano keys. No musical notes. Nothing cheesy. I might consider an abstract piano if it is not cheesy. Think John Lennon. Still I am leaning towards no piano. I'm a rock and roll piano player/singer that plays with a band. We do many classy gigs. Many with orchestras, but it is still rock and roll.

I'm starting to think that MAYBE a piano would be cool. Again something abstract or maybe just an outline of a piano. I guess I was just afraid of it being cheesy or tacky. I would like to see some with and some without. Still not sure which way I'll go. Thanks - MC

If you are thinking about including some sort of abstract piano, the lid should be closed. Open lid is too classical looking. Maybe it should be looking down on the piano. Not necessarily straight down. Still not sure if I'll use the piano but if I see a really cool one it is quite possible.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Hi. I want to open this up a little more. If it gets your creativity going, go ahead and use a color in your design. Also, a tag line that we often use is "The New Voice of the American Rock and Roll Songbook". It may be cool to have that in the design as long as it is a layered document. As far as the piano goes, check out jimbrickman.com and look at the t-shirt to the right when you log on. It says BRICKMAN over a piano outline. It is kind of cool. If i were to go with a piano it would be something similar to that. Don't want to copy exactly though.

Here are some other examples of musician logos that I like.

timmcgraw.com, ericclapton.com, taylorswift.com

If I come up with more ideas I will post them
Thanks!

Hi. New thought. I want to try to make more our of the M and the C. I'm thinking the M and the C could be larger fonts and then the "ichael" and the "avanaugh" be smaller and possibly different fonts. Maybe have the M and the C stacked on each other. Maybe the C a little further in to the right.

If you look at #5 I like how the "avanaugh" is smaller than the C and starts kind of inside of the C.
