Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
Design #2 - Comments from colleagues seem to agree with my initial impression, that that the "M" portion of the logo seems to jump out more as a "T." I'm sure that is unintended, but just something that caught everyone's eye.
Design #1 - Interesting use of the stylized "M" (not crazy about the font, though) leaning east and west.
Design #4 - While I like the use of the bold blue background, we're not sure how well it will transfer to web and print designs. Also not sure of the significance of the central "globe" in the design. If the globe remains as an integral part of the design, prefer a color other than orange.
Design #3 - similar comment on globe for Design #4, but the overall impression is that the logo is a bit too bland.
Design #9 - The process colums are an excellent idea, but we do more than oil & gas processing. Our current logo has atheme with a compass (for accurate direction) and stopwatch (time is critically important). And while we're not in oil & gas per se, we do a fair amount of our consulting business in these sectors. Variations on this theme in #10 & #11 (prefer the font in #11, but not the black lettering) are very interesting. Thanks, arqsax
As a general comment: while we are legally known as MENA Partners, Ltd., we are known in the market place as simply MENA Partners. We can drop the "Ltd." portion in the logo if it makes the design easier.
Designers - please bear with us, as we are circulating your artwork among team members, and should have a complete ranking, along with comments within a few hours. But, this is great work so far!
OK. We've been offline for nearly 24 hours, so unable to post comments. But, we are impressed with the designs submitted thus far. We have re-ranked the entries, and will provide our impressions and perhaps a few suggestions within hours. Thanks for your patience, and we'll try to avoid any mysteries to our rankings.
We are extremely impressed with the efforts by all designers. As we appear to be closing in on a finish for the competition, we will communicate directly with each designer, to try to convey our thinking and impressions of those ranked designs. In addition, we will try to limit the number of preferred designs (no more than 10 in our rankings), in order to keep the process simplified from our side.
Obviously, we will post comments here that are not specific to a particular design.
As all designers may have noticed, we seem to be leaning toward black/gold, purple/gold, fonts with a more bold look, a gradient appearance (particularly in the lettering), some reflective elements and some shadow, and logo to the left, then words to the right. We have not yet decided if the "Ltd." will be part of the final design, but appreciate everyone's treatment of this issue. The finish line is drawing near. Thanks all.
