Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:
~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation. ~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered. ~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see. ~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested" ~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation. ~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work. ~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

Hi CH, any chance of ranking the designs or providing some feedback? Helps us designers to see the kind of styles you like and what you're looking for from your logo.
my apologies for the late feedback - i was away for a few days.
i just did a ranking to help out.
here is some specific feedback:
my main goal is to get the character mark designed. i'm hoping to get a character like the kfc (kentucky fried chicken) man or the elmer's glue character. i am less concerned with the typography, and i would be happy to just get the character mark if need be.
what i'm thinking for the character is an older woman with safety glasses, happy, smiling, with maybe the collar of a lab suit showing. if this can be integrated with the type, than thats great - but if not its not important.
i like the drawing style of entry #29 and the type style of #21 in the entries so far. (please note that Labs is plural, not Lab)
thanks for all the great work - i will be online and available for the next two days to comment/rank more.
one more comment - in the designs above there is some use of test tubes. this could be interesting if somehow combined with the character - maybe she is holding a flask? if you do go with that - i think and Erlenmeyer Flask would work. one of these: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/00/Erlenmeyer_flask_hg.jpg
