Awesome Matthew! That was my favorite thickness as well. Its a good choice, also for printing purpose, the other was good also, but when the line its more thicker its better specially if it´s balanced with all the design.

Thanks for all the corrections. Last one, I think, can you make the top of the oyster meat simply rounded (currently, it mimics the shell up top). I attempted to put a line where that roughly should be.

I feel that we are so close that I will just send a couple more tweaks here. Can we lessen the space after "Vashon" and before "Island" bringing those words closer to the graphic? Finally, can we make the oyster outline a little thinner to see what that looks like, please.

I´m totally fine with what you prefer. If you want we adjust here on the website if you find easy and you are having fun doing it better. Or after the contest is complete its fine also. I just need when you finish the contest for you to tell me this is the final logo no adjustments needed or that you will still need to do some adjustments and we can make a meeting that´s fine. I´m saying this cause when clients finish the contest I assume the logo is final and I work on the final files you will need on the future and It will took me some time around these to make sure all is ok and you have all you might need.

Do you want us to declare this the winner and then we work on some final refinements? Or should we work through the refinements before declaring the winner?

For example: adjustment of the T in Auster, so it's a little less wide. Softening the transition between the oyster outline and where it meets the Maury Auster banner.

So you know #108 was always my favorite, I´m glad you got to this one again. In my personal opinion, #158 , #159 are the best ones. With this I mean more balance in an aesthetic way and being visible at the same time.

I believe #160 breaks a little the shellfish been bellow the main title. Just some thoughts.

One other decision:
Let's iterate on this knockout version, but we will want to add the shaded oyster background as an option to the final logo suite. We'll wait until we get this hierarchy figured out though.

Hi João - thanks so much for working through these with us. We definitely want to iterate from this design as the base.

Some decisions on our side:
- Oyster Outline Shape: This the right outline for sure. So let's stick with this one.
- We do not want to have the Vashon Island shape at the top. Let's keep it as an element at the bottom
- "Vashon [outline] Island, WA" is not going to be legible on and Instagram post for example. I think seeing the size and weight a little heavier (or a different font) will help here. We want it to still be balanced, but also more legible when it's small.

Next steps: working through the placement ad hierarchy of Vashon [outline] Island, WA and Shellfish:
1. Maybe we try "Shellfish" directly under Maury Auster, and straight across then the Vashon [outline] Island, WA in the swoop at the bottom?
2. Then Vashon [outline] Island, WA straight under Maury Auster like now, but a more legible font type and Shellfish still across the bottom like it is now

Yes, I totally agree! We were planning on using the meat as a variation. I think #152 is very close to it. How hard is it to rotate just the shell a few degrees to the right, leaving the text exactly where it is, so that the point of the shell is in line with the tip of the island graphic.
Also, can we decrease the font size a little on “Vashon Island, WA,” but add character spacing so that it keeps the same length but makes the letters a little smaller. I want it to be there but want it to blend in a little more.

The one with the meat in my opinion should be a variation since its a bit more complex. The main logo in my opinion should be #152 or similar ones without meat, cause the meat part its an watermark and for printing purposes will work well, special on marketing materials like stationary, videos, social media, but if you want to do a sign for example with neons or anything that follows the structure of the design, the meat will not work. It just a personal opinion.

Actually, can you leave the island graphic and just take the est part away. We still want to see point 1 and 3 above

1. Can you update this one with the updated outline with the umbo?

2. Update “ESTD 2024” to Est 2017”

3. Then add ”Vashon Island, WA” above shellfish? We are trying to add that in and want to see if it is still balanced, and not too busy.

I like what you did with the oyster here. Instead of the ‘MA’, I think it would be cool to put the graphic of Vashon in the middle, like and Easter egg, and let the lines trace around it.

This is great and the umbo we are looking for! As we move forward and if this design is chosen, is there a simple horizontal design that can come out of this? Thinking if we need to print on lanyards or narrow places.

We love the clean, single line silhouette of the shell and do not want to add too much weight at the top. I am going to add a photo of a shell that I like the umbo on. We just need to create a little more pronounced bump at the top with a very slight curve to the left.

We are really loving these and definitely our solid front runner. We love the color variations that you made with the blue and black backgrounds too. On critique on the shell that would really make it pop is at the top, there is a little pronounced but subtle piece called the umbo that I would love to see incorporated into this design.

We like how you have incorporated Vashon Island, the oyster outline. The shape of the oyster is a little off though, and doesn't quite scream that it is an oyster yet - would love to see some variation on that. We added some illustrated oysters that we liked for reference.
