Hi, my first 2 concepts for your logo, playful, yet embracing the innovation/communication aspects of your brand. Am I right that you had envisioned an actual nut you would eat? I've depicted a 'nut' as in nuts and bolts as I thought it's a recognizable symbol for using within social media, and lends itself well to a fun/playful logo and brand.
Happy to make changes, and welcome your feedback.

Thanks,
Catherine

Thanks so much for taking time to understand our goals and objectives. I like what you have done and we have played around a bit with the "Nuts and bolts" aspects in some messaging. I also like the font treatment you used in #17.

Regarding your question on the "nut" yes we are referring to a literal nut. You can see some of them on the www.themarketingnutz.com site that we have used. We often use a walnut, pecan etc

You are definitely headed in the right direction with your thinking and work on this project.

Thanks!

One more thought is to combine a conversation bubble with a nut. We are all about the organic, laying roots as a foundation for business results, infrastructure etc. but we are also about the nuts and bolts of business. We focus on both the human side of connecting with real people via conversation as well as the getting down to brass tactics.

Here is another video depicting some of our brand messaging and positioning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7X2UpGkgp8

Hi Pam,

Thanks for the helpful feedback, I had a look at the video and came up with these combinations of the 'nut' and conversation bubble. I noticed you used a lot of realistic imagery, as well as strong/plain graphics. So I've combined a realistic looking nut; as the brain child to ideas and communication - the speech bubbles.
Again, happy to make any changes, thanks, Catherine

Thanks so much for this. Like where you are going. We like #16 the best so far.

Would love to see a nut incorporated as the conversation bubble. An acorn could work as well. One option is that the conversation bubble stays white but is in the shape of an acorn? The second would be that it incorporates a photographic image as the acorn but not sure how this would look? ;)

So far the #16 is the winner. Would like to see some different options with this as a foundation. Would like to see some font options more similar to submission #3 & #10 as our chosen fonts are always more rounded, big and fat :)

Thanks!

Hi Pam,

A few more options uploaded; see what you think, I've thought it's difficult to tell the speech bubble is a nut with it all white as in #59 so made the top of the nut wood texture in #60, #61, then grey in #62, #63 if you want to keep to the two main colors. Tried a few more rounded fonts, easy enough to swap them out...

Thanks,
Catherine

Hi Catherine. You were right from the start with the simple conversation bubble, the acorn doesn't do it. Kept making me think it was a guy with a big nose & funny hat. ;)

We still like your first one so let's go with that and get it where it needs to be. Right now you are the clear winner so great work!

Some suggestions/input:
-The borders/lines for all of your submissions are appearing fuzzy. Not sure if it's how you uploaded them or if they have not been refined yet.
-Use a more rounded font as suggested above. We have used Steiner Light in the past but sometimes it is a little too light/skinny.
-We like the font used in #3.
-The word "nuts" doesn't have to be an action word.
-Would like to see different variations of logo on top and left of words.
-Would be good to see different variations of the logo with words on different color backgrounds (gray, green etc.)
-Marketing Nutz can be used as one word if needed and placing on one line.

Hi Pam,

A couple of options uploaded with a more rounded font, and some with a colored background so you can see how they'll look on different media.
The logo is made up in vectors, so the lines are clean and crisp - it will probably be the lower quality JPG we have to upload here that are making them appear fuzzy at the edges.
I do have a texture within the 'nut' of the different shades of orange, but can make it flat/solid color as I have in #81. I'll await feedback on these ones, and we'll go from there..

Thanks again,
Catherine

Love what you've done with the fonts. Definitely like the look of the logo on different color backgrounds as well. Thanks for doing such so we could get a feel for it with different executions.

Would love to see #16 with the same round fonts (similar to #78). Not sure how it works within Logo Tournament but we would like to get the source files for both the logo layout similar to #16 as well as #78 & #77 so we can use as needed.

Also would love to talk w/you about some other design work if you are available.

Thanks again for your good work and quick turn on edits. You're definitely earning the win and our biz. Great service and we appreciate it :)

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback - #86 is #16 with the font changed.

It is fine for me to supply you with different versions of the same logo; ie. the landscape/portrait orientation, and the stacked text as in #86 so you can use them as you need.

I am available for further work, but sorry I can't discuss details with you until the contest has ended, hope you'll understand.

Thanks again,
Catherine

HI again. Good news on the logo sizes & variations. I figured such but wanted to confirm.

I like what you did with #86 and the others. Do you think the "Nutz" looks a little big. Could you pls try to balance them. I know it's tough w/the variance in characters of the two words "marketing" & nuts". However, not sure we want NUTZ to be the only word that pops out so big.

Sounds good. We'll talk after the contest on the further work.

Thx

Hi there. We recvd the final files. The artboard is sized awkward in the eps file but we can easily fix.

Yes, would be great if we could get the other source files you provided (the variations).

I will approve the contest now with the uploaded files you've provided so you can get paid :)

Thanks for your excellent work on the project. We are happy with the end result.

Thx

Hi there. Thank you so much for the files. We have a few questions and a request.

After reviewing the source files we have some questions and concerns.

1. The color is much lighter on the source files. It appears more of a yellow and very different than the orange that was uploaded. It takes us far away from our original brand colors which include orange. The key colors were to be orange, white and gray.

2. There are some wacky things with the logo where one of the layers shows thru the top right of the gears. There is a square layer that shows between the top right gears where white space should be. If you provide me an email I can send you a copy. It is like the layer was not cleaned up. I can see that I can remove the feathering you added but will take a lot of work to edit and I would think it would be easier for you to do since you are familiar with the file and the logo shouldn't have such an issues.

3. Would like to see the logo be modified to be more dark, a true orange as the colors we use on our website and Facebook pages which I shared (www.themarketingnutz.com).

Please let me know how you would like us to proceed and if you could pls fix these things for us. We like the logo but with the color being off and the wackiness we are reluctant to fully execute and implement until these things are fixed.

Thanks
Pam

Hi Pam,

Can you please give me Pantone number of the orange you use, or the CMYK/RGB values, then I can match it up - that's the only way to get a true match.

Do you want the different tone I have within the nut? That ill be what the square is, not sure why its viewing on top, but will try to sort it out if you still want it. Otherwise I can make it a flat color.

Thanks,
Catherine

Hi there. We just need the logo cleaned up. There are layers that make it very hard to produce to other colors. Can you pls produce a clean version of the logo for us with no layers that are overlapping where they shouldn't be? When trying to produce a white version or gray version of the logo it is close to impossible the way the layers are currently. We would like to see the logo cleaned up to one color of orange as we have it on our website http://www.themarketingnutz.com as well as in all gray and all white. Pls let me know what I need to do to get these files from you?
