My first idea after reading about your contest was a chess queen, even before fzafred's submission. However I still wanted to incorporate the arrows into the design, showing that she is capable of going any direction. I look forward to your feed back.
Hi ~ thank you de_signer74! I like it! Would you mind downloading my most recent artwork (uploaded) today to get the color palette I've been using. I'm open to tweaking it but I definitely want to keep it in the deep pink / maroon palette rather than straight up red. I think this logo in that color palette would look cool.
Can you tell me a little about the Queen in chess? I don't play. How powerful is she? What is she capable of? What would be a good metaphor for me to use when speaking to clients about why I have a chess piece as my symbol? I love to talk/learn/share in analogies and metaphors.
I can't wait to see what else you come up with too. Thanks for your effort!
Thanks for your comment. I will review your colour palette this afternoon and make those adjustments. The game of chess is one of the most, if not the most, strategic games. In the game, there are many different types of pieces that protect the king. Each piece has it's own special movements. For example, the pawn can only move forward one space, or twice at the beginning, a rook can move freely straight forward and back, a bishop can move forward and back freely on the diagonal, and the knight moves 2 spaces forward and one to the side any direction. However, the queen can move freely forward and back in any direction. Hope this clears it up a little. This makes her the most valuable next to the king.
