Mango meets his match! Rather than hiding Mango behind goggles and a snorkle, I gave him super-doggie powers of free swimming with the sea life. This playful, colorful, Matisse-like scene will inspire the humans to grab their gear and jump on in.

In Entry #8 - i really like how you made it an emblem - the background is EXACTLY what i was looking for.
Is there any way you can use just the face of the dog in more of a cartoon format. I like the concept of the face off - but a majority of the users are children and they wont get it.

i really like entry #9.. Can you make the Mango's Cove Scuba Diving in orange like you had in Entry #8?
Also maybe make one of the bubbles (from the snorkel) be the O in Mango? Maybe make the dogface a bit smaller so everything fits within the circle? i like yellow and orange being the primary colors.

Happy you're liking my take on Mango! Submitting herewith a new version with the orange type and containing all of the art (except for a bit of the air bubbles) within the oval shape.

A version making the O in Mango feel like a bubble. Not sure this is quite working yet, but I'll keep working on it.

i like #15 with the orange writing. is there a way you can outline the words in yellow?
Also, may put the snorkel closer to the mask and on the front side of the ear instead of behind. i think it is the whole snorkel/mask thing that is making it tough to come together.
doing that - would need to move the fish more center and maybe throw in an octopus on the left?
to keep it from looking too busy maybe make the starfish, fish and octopus smaller? THANK YOU!

Hi: Many thanks for your feedback and suggestions! Mango is back with the following changes:

Mask & Snorkel: I made the mask slightly smaller and moved/re-angled the snorkle so it's closer to his head. I'm trying to keep the mask as large as possible for the sense of Mango's wonderfully big, curious eyes. I also brought the snorkel forward so it's now in front of his ear.

Type: I'm showing a yellow outline, however, because the yellow and the orange of the prior type are very close in value, I had to make the type a deeper shade of orange. I think the outline may be adding a level of complexity that isn't needed, but it can certainly work.

Critters: I reduced and moved the starfish and the fish, and added a seahorse. An octopus seemed to be too busy -- fighting with the kelp in the background -- so a seahorse seemed like a nice graphic shape with a bit of flair in its tail.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this latest round of changes, and am happy to make further adjustments as needed.

Cheers!

I really really like #17
i think the outline gives it a little more depth which is fantastic.
can you reduce the size of th seahorse a little. I just dont want it to seem too busy - but i like all of the underwater critters....kids will really love this.
is there anyway to make the dog look happier? let me know.
this looks great. :)
thanks! laura

Hi Laura: I'll get to work on the changes you request. I have a couple of ideas for making little Mango happier, and will play with them.

All best, Loquaz

Hi Laura: So, I hope Mango looks a bit happier. I gave him the illusion of a smile by enlarging the mouthpiece of his snorkle and giving him a lower lip. I also eliminated his eyebrows (which felt like a frown) and brightened his eyes by making them sea blue.

The seahorse is also a bit smaller.

Please let me know how he's looking to you. (He's such a cutie: I hope I'm doing him -- and your vision -- justice!)

Cheers, Loquaz

mango totally looks happier. thank you. :) this looks great.
can we try making the kelp a little skinner to match the size of the sealife?
also, maybe make the dog brown instead of black with black eyes? i feel like we have all of this colorful stuff and then BLACK smack in the middle. not sure how the brown will look but it may work?
thanks again - i appreciate all of the work on this.

Hi Laura: Here is Mango in his new brown wet suit, along with thinner kelp. I think changing his color was a brilliant idea: his warm coloring blends with the warmth of the other critters nicely. Please let me know how you like him!
