NICE start sean!

it's amazing watching you guys get going with a bunch of roughs and then slowly getting your head into the nature of the client's business ... you have a great job! and you must be mentalists! [smile]

some more info: our readers are primarily male, 60+ years old, affluent, retired, and somewhat adventurous (how else would they buy an expensive boat and not be working?). many are past business or engineering types ... you might have to hit them over the head with any related letter shapes (making it part of the word, color association, etc.).

birds are probably not going to work here. our name can easily be confused for waterway or wetlands management organizations (versus providing the guides and charts that people need to move a boat).

we're really looking forward to seeing more of your concepts and variations!

please let us know anything we can do to help you and thank you for all of your hard work.

best,

mark

hi sean,

keep 'em coming. i really like watching your ideas evolve.

remember, we're waterway singular, not waterways and we'll also need the tag in whatever it is you produce.

thanks again,

I know you're still doing your stretching exercises here. [smile]

Some specifics: We're seeing a lot of waves in this tournament. Don't get me wrong, waves are good! But they are so common in the business that you'll need to do something uncommon in their use, if you know what I mean. And they definitely need to NOT resemble sharks!

I know this is hard to keep pulling rabbits out of hats ... but I'm still looking for the cent symbols in Picky Ricky and the TV fish aquarium in Salmonrun Media. Loved the TV aquarium!

Think standing out on signage at a trade show booth; readable (or at least intriguing) at ten feet, embroidered on a polo shirt; or instantly eye-catching and recognizable on a magnetic vehicle door sign or vinyl lettering on our boat ...

C'mon ... you can do it! [smile]

I'm sorry, neither of these concepts are making my heart beat faster. But I find myself having a difficult time saying why not ... or, more importantly, what would light my fire.

I see what you're doing but I think of these logos as "decorative" not "informative."

As an example, both Picky Ricky and Salmon Run Media are good looking but also quickly tell the "story."

Our story needs to be reflected in our logo:

- small, upcoming self-publisher in the boating industry
- provides cruising guides (books that tell you how and where to go in your boat)
- new player (younger, exciting, current information, uses high-tech and innovative methods for data gathering and presentation)

Let's blow this up and try some new ideas altogether!

Thanks, Mark

p.s. A lot of people asked that I don't bin things in the "not interested" column unless they are "horrible. Not a problem, I'll start ranking again ... with low rankings meaning what they mean and our dialog mainly taking place by post. Recognize that I do have a problem in that LT does not tell me when you have posted to this page. I only get notification with a "private message."
