I think a bird takes us away from our core business ... books and electronic chart DVDs ... toward wetland management ... and not in synch with tools to help you manage your vessel as you migrate the waterway.
It probably is also too feminine. Our customers are primarily male, 60s, affluent, and adventurous.
We're small potatoes here and will often have to use the logo in B&W so you should design away from complex gradations and subtle shapes and colors. Bold text and geometric shapes and solid colors will be best for us in the long run.
