this demonstrates the versatility of this logo...easily flattened with no loss of detail.

Hi-It works well for signs- stationary- two main formats I see in constant usage.
Only reason I picked the green( tree energy) is green symbolizes $ and the blue
cause it symbolizes water energy and blue is a color of trust.
Obviously using it in black/white saves on ink when printing.
I would use this on print material- housing brochures where I see the need for
something attractive yet conveying trust/stability.

thanks!

I like to "sleep on it" see which one I can't seem to get out of my head/heart.

Thank you M! I'm happy that I could capture these characteristics for you. If you can come up with any suggestions or if I have left anything out, I would really appreciate it so that I can make this perfect for your needs. Thank you for considering me and for the feedback. I will continue to work on making it even better.

Hi Marilyn,

I'm having some technical problems with my PC at the moment so that's why I haven't submitted the updates as yet. I'm very sorry for any discomfort or anxiety I might have caused. Hopefully I will get through this real soon. Thanks for your patience.

Ok-
I have shown your drawings to several people
what they like is the following:
1. captures attention- stands out
2. use of imagery
3. Bold- hence memorable
4. successful use of name
5. would translate well to signage/stationary/web page

I would like to see you once operational leave the sky color alone and perhaps
add the website address at the bottom isellchicagohomes.com.
#15 is a good fit/clever use as well but seems to lack some of the vibrancy ( life force)
perhaps a bit dead on the page?
19 has the green letters symbolizing grass while the other has brown or black letters
making it a bit bolder in visuals.
Cant wait to see what minor modifications you can make.

thanks,
Marilyn

Still waiting for you to add I sell chicago homes. com to the bottom of your drawings.
Extended the contest to give you a 2 day window. If not, will bump to 2nd choice.

Hi
I need the website address on the bottom.
I guess the other possibility is to buy your design
after the contest is finished... if you can get it
together.

have you lost any interest in my designs as a result of the unfortunate incident I had with my computer? i feel really really bad about that right now! i assure you I am in control of that now unless my house gets on fire and I lose everything in it. The designs have been backed up on external media.

I do understand if you just prefer another design though...that's what the contest is for, but I could tell you really loved my design and I can't help but think you had a change of heart when I became inactive for a while.

Thanks for considering me anyway. I appreciate it.

Hi
Yours are the boldest. When shown to others it is a case of they either really love it or hate it.
So I guess I am picking an artist more than a particular drawing. You are showing a great deal of
versality with the home design.
What can we do with the color aspect?

feng shui/staging+ appealing to all people entails the following balance
earth- brown, white, sand 30-40%- can be the background
water- blue 15%
wood- green 15%
metal- gold,silver/black15%
Fire-15%
Guess that said we need a spark of fire!
thanks,
Marilyn

Logo Designer
ok Thanks! I think I'm beginning to understand the feng shui concept so I composed this with it in mind. The blacks/metal energy are representing areas of no sunlight in the image. The orange/fire energy is the sun. The green/wood is grass and the blue/water is the roof and windows of the houses. The white/earth is the background. I realize the percentages aren't perfectly balanced but I'm hoping I'm really catching on to the concept. From what you've said I take it I have the creativity to produce a nice logo but the test is to see who can do a nice logo while embracing the feng shui art form.

Hi
Thats the goal.. so we are playing a bit for the right balance of chi energy.
Take #116 house drawing and the lettering of #117 or #111 they are the same
and see how that looks. I think differentiating the side of the home (forming the M)
from the roof color makes it seem more like a home would look ( adds a bit of dimension)
On the orange sun we dont want it to look like an orange so perhaps we want to shade or grade it a bit
You have a roof line hanging without support but that might draw the eye into the drawing.
I like the use of the V to draw the eye to the name.
You can play with the home-gradiant shade like shadows would occur naturally with the sun rising or setting, window color, wall color, shutters, awnings, door portal a different color... see what pops that house.
If the home is left alone, perhaps add a bit of landscape... sea grass, blackeyed susans... let's pretend this is a coastal cottage... on an ocean shoreline.....
Obviously the more colors added the more color separation process so I am not looking to run amok.
Subtle is good.
I like all your work but I are trying to get it to look a bit more elegant/classy rather than one dimensional blocky in nature. I dont want the work to just lay there as a "cold" impression... I am trying to get this drawing to leave a lasting wow impression on the home shopper.
as to the wording try a bit of a slant to suggest movement, perhaps?

You are doing great... all your images are good, we just want to bring them to life ( more warmth) so they are not "cool" only.
thanks,
Marilyn OConnor

Instead of lower case i try the i capitalized or perhaps we just go with a phone number

#102- always have loved it for the fact that it has dimension to it. Again, it lacks an attention to details that would make it "pop" or draw the eye into the drawing even more. You have an in your face quality to it
and you may want to re-visit this one as well for what will "catch" make it standout/be a bit more playful
as well.
The basics are there, the american expression is
the devil is in the details.

#116 looked at this again... add a small bush/tree/grass where their normally would be a line for the side of the building- it should pull the eye into the drawing....

thanks,

Client
#130- add on the right side where the building's roof line stops and along the green line a burning bush or a crimson plum maple color tree. And lets call it quits.
#102 is another good choice that is still a strong contender.

I like the use of shading to add more depth.

Try some flowers along the edge of the homes towards the right side. the red branches from behind home appear creepy. This is hard to explain online. If we were sitting next to each other this process could be wrapped up quicker.

#132- ashes or birds flying? either way NO
I am not looking for green behind building but a plant/bush against the right side of the homes above the green line.
will look for some website page to guide you on this. not getting it.

HI-
I think I will use your #102 for another division of MAK RE inc
MAK DEVELOPMENT
so lets work it up as #102 take out word real estate and put in word"development" in green.
Or you can choose to do after the contest ends and outside of logo site providing the price
is mutually agreeable.
your call,
thanks,
Marilyn

I think we can work something out. You can make me an offer via e-mail. We can always close the deal after the contest is over. I'll do a mock up of MAK DEVELOPMENT in the meantime to spead up the process.

Thanks again,

HI-
Take #102 and make the inc go vertical like in #169.
Take the house windows and make them red/gold or whatever appeals to you.
Shade the blue of MAK so it is dark at base and lightens as eye goes vertical.
What are you going to charge for #102 if you place 2nd and I still want to buy
that design?
thanks,
Marilyn

Logo Designer
I made the changes in #172 as requested.

About the cost of my design. Well, there was a lot of work that went into that design and it is of very good quality and unique. Those factors would send the cost way above the contest prize amount. This is what makes this website very good. You get superior quality for very little. Now, this puts me in a weird spot. How then will I charge you for my design outside of LogoTournament.com? I prefer if you make me an offer I can't refuse.

Anything above $500 definitely can't be refused :)
But seriously, make me an offer. I'll give you as many variations as you like but send me your offer via e-mail.

HI-
#173,#174 are identical drawings.
Did you mean to change one from saying real estate to saying development
or was it just an oops?
thanks
