++ you have been able to incorporate a happy dog within the theme of Maine natural beauty!
I wonder if you would be willing/able to try the following:- I think the reason i would want these changes is to make the logo have a slightly more solid, serious aspect.. ie. let the dog be the playful part but let the rest of the logo impart the grandeur, solidness of Maine and of our commitment to quality and service.. I am hoping I am expressing this well. Maybe you will know exactly what I mean and have an idea of how to represent these things in the logo ... :) (ps. I am smiling at the thought that this might be the beginning of our logo!)
A different banner for the Maine Pet Supply.. maybe a more traditional oval within an oval -- with Maine Pet Supply following the space the two ovals make. to give a more uniform outer profile, and also to allow more space for the images of Maine. maybe it give a stronger more solid feeling.
I realize the lighthouse in my drawing was red (to add pop of color) but it will read truer to Maine if if it a white lighthouse with red accents (stripes?) ... also it should sit perched upon a rocky coast or a few large boulders
The pop of color on the collar will prob be enough of a red pop of color.
I love the happy expression of the dog. love that he is poking out from the scene of Maine ..perfect! I wonder if we could try a brown and white dog -- brown where grey is? Also maybe a tough shaggier...
I am uncertain of the colors.. not a huge fan of the red and blue combo in banner. I leave options up to you.
If any of this does not make sense please let me know.. I would really like to see this design again..!

i have unable to post a pic here... didnt want to post on general comments...
i sketched something for you. but i am rushing out the door.
so pardon me if i am brief; smaller dog so more of background of maine can show, perhaps a broad oval boarder -- another colour other than gray.. i tried mid to light brown and it was sort of grounding with bold letters of maine pet supply.
as soon as i can get back to computer - prob not till later tonight - i will try again to post the drawing
#39 Hi, I have made the dog a bit smaller and I used a wood board background.. I hope this is what you had in mind...Looking forward to hearing from you later tonight..thanks Peg
thanks for all of your work. I feel we are soo close .
I am having trouble expressing this...without directing you to other submissions
so -- i know its a delicate balance but i sort of like a less 'cartoonish' depiction of the Maine scenery.. i want the viewer to view the Maine scenery more as a comprehensive scene and not separate elements. Perhaps reworking the scene, less cartoonish, have mountain be more of a part of a PANORAMIC scene of Maine --showing diversity across landscape - mountain, to stream to ocean etc The Maine scene seems to need to be more prominent.... This is a happy, adorable dog who is lucky enough to live in this amazingly beautiful and natural Maine... our customers can picture their dog in this idyllic environment.
i love the way you have incorporated the dog, looking out, and i am thinking the cleaner lines of the less shaggy dog of your earlier designs prob works better. i think a brown in between the two browns you have used might be best.
I think i dont like the offset oval on the outside of the logo, and not sure i like the wood grain background, This outside seems to need to be 'simpler'?
I really hope I am successfully expressing myself. I know it must be hard to interpret .....
i wonder if it would work if the background tree line would become the purplish mountains and the moutnain up front would become a darkish green mountain side... my partner who is from maine.. says it doesnt read well to have the purple mountain right up front immediate foreground.. as the mountain looks purplish the more distant they are.
or maybe recede the scenery a little.. so that mountain is not so close in the plane with the dog?
maybe, if you have time for a separate submission with just an overall less cartoon look.. not sure if that is possible.. i imagine you have a lot going on at once

#48 Hi, Here is something more detailed. I put the mountains in the back and brought the trees up front and changed the dog..Looking forward to your expressive feedback, its a great help when designing your logo...thanks so much.. Peg
Thank you ! This definitely seems to fit our store more. We like the rich colors, the more realistic look. I think it might be less distracting to remove the trunks of the trees, just have the deep green of the trees meet the oval border. Also, it is not entirely normal for the dog to show the whites of his eyes to this extent -- it generally is a sign of distress/disturbance.. and would read that way to a dog owner...
#71 Here are the changes you requested...Not as much white in the eyes and no trunks on the trees. Looking forward to further feedback...thanks so much.. Peg
We are about to end the contest and I just wanted to thank you for your creative work. You were very responsive and sincere and obviously very talented! In the end we chose another vision. It was a very difficult choice.
