Its a good start. thanks for submitting.
Here are my thoughts. The text of Lynn and Carl needs to pop a little more. Maybe a stroke? or some 3d shading.
Also if this is to be used as a sign there will need to be some border to support the text above or below the logo for "a Place for friends"
