My submission clean, fresh update to the existing logo, Gone is the traditional orange half slice. the type face chosen is a complement top the existing logo but with a sharper more defined look and feel.
the reason for the number of variations is to protect my work, LT is very strict concerning people who wait to see what designs are ranked in the top 3 spot. then the copies start showing up.
Thanks for the concepts, Scott. I would like to see a couple revisions keeping in mind the following goals please: -Lone Star should read as two words please. -I don't care for black used on the fonts. I think it's too harsh. We want the logo to feel clean, crisp, modern, light. - I would like to see a concept that is more closely inspired by Lone Star Citrus Growers existing logo with an updated art approach that includes a half slice and juice droplet please.
FYI - Entry #23 and #24 have a great balance of looking clean and modern with a bit of Texas flair. They are good examples of combining the objectives that this is a citrus company from Texas.
Could I see a revision of #8. I like the chunky letters. Is there a font that looks a little bit more texan that is still chunky without looking too rustic. I like the tall, yet chunky letterforms. Would like to see "citrus growers" in the same green as leaf please.
a fresh, clean simple yet BOLD design...this would be considered a logo make over not a re-brand. Many companies opt to makeover than to re-brand unless there is specific reason to do so.
I was having a problem dealing with the blue, red and orange, each of these colors are what I call dark and all 3 used as main colors actually are visually fighting for dominance.
Blue was the old color out so why not keep it but in more subdued and incorporate into the secondary line
I feel this keeps your original design without sacrificing identity.
#33: Too many droplets inside the citrus. Please simplify. Please change shape of star to white.
#38: Change the word Lone to orange. Everything else stays the same on this concept.
#31: Change word Lone to orange color. Change citrus growers and lines to red please.
#30: Change word Lone to orange color. Change citrus growers and lines to red please.
I agree with you that it makes sense to use the blue sparingly and focus on the citrusy colors.
Please reference page 2 of logo specs doc provided. Client is famous for their juicy ruby red grapefruit with red interior and orange outer peel. Would really like to see a concept that showcases the half fruit as it would normally sit on a surface (i.e. not a straight on, perfect circle perspective, but rather how the fruit would sit on a plate so you see the rounded interior plus a good part of the peel.)
About the designs with the drop. The concept is taking one of the cells and turning into the drop rather than a drop separate from the fruit embodies "Fresh Squeezed, Dripping with Goodness"
I was not 100% happy with the drop in the previous submissions. I will not re-upload all previous works with this revision, it's just too many submissions to shuffle through. All revisions from this point will be using this version that is if you prefer it as well.
Would you like to add any gradients to your citrus icon? I believe my previous comments mentioned that the other decision makers were attracted to the extra depth achieved with the gradients in the citrus icon.
#125 is using gradients to achieve the same look but it looses it's appeal. and has an old school look thing late 90's where all these bubble candy effects were at the hay-day...to day solids are current and always will be they never get old or tired looking.
#125 is the clear favorite with all the gradients/effects on citrus as presently applied. Just a few final revisions please.
We want all the sections of the citrus to be included please (no white blank space that looks like a section is missing).
Alter the flow and placement of the juice drop so it separates the words Lone Star. We want these to appear as two separate words, not close together. Move the words further apart to make room for the big mouthwatering droplet please. With the addition of the missing section, it's OK to alter the starting point of the droplet if needed.
Once the above edits have been made, we would like to see a second concept that includes all of the above edits with the only difference being the fonts. Lettering placement would stay the same, but the font would change to a serif font. Serif font desired is presently shown on concept #120 (the concept presently in the #2 position).
On the newest concepts, the citrus artwork feels crowded atop the lettering. We really liked the positioning of the citrus in #125 with the grey shadow near the baseline it was sitting on.
The words Lone and Star may need to be moved even further apart please. We want the bottom edge of the droplet to sit on the same baseline as the words please.
We like the coloring/shading/effects on citrus artwork of #125. Please don't change those effects. Thanks.
#134, #135 and #136 are all much closer to what we had in mind. Thank you.
Please make one more concept of these three finalists for consideration that shows the super long droplet as previously requested where bottom edge of drop sits on same baseline as Lone Star lettering. Top/starting point of drop stays the same as presently shown please.
Scott: I'm noticing that you've changed the perspective/sizing on the citrus in the newest concepts.
We really loved everything about the sizing and positioning of the citrus shown in #125. It looked so commanding and powerful at that size and position. Just asking for that one white section to get filled in and the fonts to get updated with elongated droplet.
Could you please provide a concept that reflects this. Thanks :)
I had to re due the citrus because you the cell added back in, plus the orientation has to with change because of the drop reposition other wise it look off.
All these edits I am doing everything has cause-and-effect changing a single letter position changes everything else, moving the drop change the way it appears to come of the fruit so the orientation had to be adjust to make the drop more fluid coming off the rim..
Do you need me to mockup something in photoshop for you to see? #125 citrus should be easy to maintain same perspective and add in that missing section and elongate droplet. I can see it very clearly in my mind.
#141 #142 #143 the citrus is 98% the same the original
as you can see position of the citrus in relation tot he over side drop. #141 is the best choice
in order from me to have the drop overlap the citrus the drop has to be increased in size and it will be way to big for the designs and the words will be 2 far space...of course with different fonts it's the same it's matter of finding the right visual balance.
#144 is very close to final. Please update fonts to those used on #139, but keep the tracking and characteristcs similar with #144. I know the serif font is more delicate, but you can manipulate font sizes so the letters are same heights and spacing as serif font was. Perhaps since the serif font is more delicate, the droplet should interact behind the s rather than in front of it.
I would also like to see an alternate concept with the droplet elongated. Not enlarged but elongated. Same starting point as #144 but bottom of droplet sits on same baseline as lone star. This fruit is famous for its juiciness, so ok to exaggerate that please. Thanks
Use lettering/fonts from #136. Add slight blue stroke to Lone Star so font lettering appears just a bit bolder.
Position droplet so the S is completely showing in the front, with droplet overlapping behind it. I want the same font interactions as shown in #144, but with the fonts from #136, with the droplet overlapping behind the S since the serif font is thinner please. OK if you need to sleep on this. Maybe a fresh set of eyes in the morning would help :)
I will try to clarify my comments here as we are not understanding one another. I do NOT want a different font. I want the all caps font presently shown in #136. The "L" is larger than the "ONE" and the "S" is larger than the "TAR", but all the letters are capitals.
You add a blue stroke to all the letters (i'm assuming you are using illustrator or corel draw) to beef up the font so it appears bolder/thicker. So the typography looks very similar to #144, but the serif font becomes beefier, all caps font from #136.
Oh how I wish I could take five minutes to mockup in photoshop for you. It would save so much of this back and forth :)
#149, #148, #136 look wonderful. Any way you could match the fonts though on these three concepts to be the exact same fonts used on #120? The rest of the team was hoping for the fonts from #120. Please let me know. Thanks.
