#60: Really like the transparent buildings! Colors are nice. It's a neat design idea!

#61: Love the quote bubble idea! The girl is cute and sassy, but I'd like to see another option as well if possible. This isn't the right word, but something less 'cartoon-style' and maybe more stylized/sophisticated but still fun and energetic?

Nancy,
We keep coming back to you for a few reasons:
We think you've got the chops to do this for us.
We like your simple, iconic buildings. Love the texture and transparency.
What if you did the 'Local' in the same (or bolder) font and did the 'Lisa' in a simple script-style font to bring in a 'personality'?
Can we see the buildings in another palate of colors? (what would YOU do if you had free reign? Greens, Blues, Magentas, Tangerines? Monochromatic? We are open to your ideas)

Also, can we see those buildings on top of the logo and tag? Or a different balance of the words?

Here are your designs that really captured us:
Handmade Green: you have texture. love the cleverness of a leash turning into a leaf and the pawprint as the 'g'.
Pullstrings Booking: clean, clever.
Registry Express and Chameleon Chat: the colors are represented and contained in one beautiful icon that says what they do.
Mutt: LOVE the fact that the dog is the 'M'. If you can figure out a way to make a woman's face part of the font of 'LocalLisa' we'll be amazed.
Shifters: Clever. Really Clever.

We keep coming back to the iconic elements in your work. The 'Apple' of Mac Products, so to speak. We need something iconic to be a 'stand-alone' in our collateral pieces. Simple. Sophisticated. Timeless. Clever. Strong. Feminine. Something that clearly speaks to women.

I guess more than a typical 'logo' (in the traditional sense) we need an logo/icon that says 'Local Lisa'.

Thanks SO much for your submissions...we know you are probably incredibly busy with other contests, but we are really interested in seeing your other ideas for us.

I'm sorry to keep writing you. Hope I'm not disturbing your work flow.
We just got a submission with buildings that look like handbags. This submission is very whimsical, but you have a more sophisticated design style.
If possible, would you be willing to take a crack at turning buildings into bags/shopping/etc.?
We think you're iteration would be modern, clean and very interesting.

Let me know what you think...
Thanks!

p.s. I'll try to stop bothering you now. ;-)

Greetings Nancy,
You are one of our top 3 designers! Thank you for your submissions.
If you are still interested, we'd love to see a couple more 'tweaks' on your current design ideas.

We're working with a focus group of women in our target demographic, and the current #2 ranked design is the overall favorite. They are really gravitating toward the colors and the skyline/shopping bag concept.

While it is indeed the running favorite, we think it has a younger/teen feel and really like your more modern, sophisticated approach. Would you be willing to put YOUR spin on the idea of a skyline turned into shopping bags? (love the transparent design, but many are interpreting it as a film strip) Perhaps with some way of 'grounding' the skyline? Also, we really appreciated you using both the Local Lisa AND tagline. (some of the women said they missed that in the #2 design) And, although we love the colors represented, we also need to keep in mind what it would look like as a b/w rendering too.

Lastly, many of the women in our focus group wanted to see more 'personality' in the design (i.e. my 'face'), but it needs to be a really artistic/modern yet clever approach to a face so that it doesn't look too 'cutesy' or cliche. (see my first message to you). If you are willing, we'd love to see another submission incorporating a face that is more of a stylized iconic image (like the dog in Mutt). I know it's a tall order, but it needs to be sophisticated, sassy, clever and fun...(similar to YOUR logo perhaps? I'm really not sure how to express what we're looking for... ;-)

We're hoping you're still interested in our contest and are really looking forward to seeing more submissions.

Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for all your input and continued interest in my design. Unfortunately I am going out of town and will not be back until Tuesday.I would be happy to submit work then, but that will be after your contest has ended.

You're welcome! We really think you are a talented designer! Thanks for letting us know about your traveling...the contest (for the top designers...of which you are one) is supposed to be open for about 4 more days. I'm not sure how this whole thing works, but if you are interested in submitting some work then we'd love to see it! We have started sharing the current top ranking designs with the women in our focus group. Boy! We have a lot of mixed reviews! I'll tell you some of the responses:

1. Ilkay woman walking: like the city/skyline. Like the woman. Can't figure out that it IS a woman. Like the pearls/scarf. Like the font. Hard to read the font. Like the word bubble idea. Word bubble is too small. (see what I mean? ;-)

2. Anna skyline: cute, pretty, inviting, too holiday-ish, too young, doesn't 'say' what you do, not sophisticated enough, love the font, like the variation of colors in the buildings and font.

3. Heru: love the simplicity, looks like a luggage tag, doesn't say what you do, unfeminine colors, like how easy it is to see as an app.

5. Nancy skyline: pretty, looks like a film-strip, needs something to 'ground' it, nice colors, would like to see the buildings as bags like Anna's, clever and clean but it just says 'city'.

So, as you can see, we're all over the map with feedback...but, the key is trying to find something that is clean, appeals to women in color and design, is not too cutesy, is uncluttered and makes sense. Currently, the group is leaning toward Ilkay's girl with pearls because they like having a 'personality' attached to the design as well as the movement found in her stride, bags and necklace/scarf.

As it stands, we are not expecting the logo to speak for our website....actually, just the reverse...people will most likely 'meet' Lisa first and the logo has to make sense with what she's all about and who she is...So the logo doesn't have to be 'all things to all people'....it just has to be clean, inviting and clever. And make sense. ;-)

Whew! A lot of feedback for you! Because of time constraints, if you need to back out, we completely understand... but I want to invite you to submit if you have some ideas based on all of these message threads! Thanks so much and safe travels!!!
