#70 - Custom, hand-drawn type with a little owl face. I thought the little owl face could be great for using separately as a mini-logo / "bug" icon.
#71 - Same custom type with custom fleurishes around the full body of an owl. I've also added a small moon and star underneath the the type. In this logo, I'd suggest using the moon / star as the mini-logo.
Thanks for your time & consideration. If there are any revisions or tweaks that you'd like to see, please just let me know. josh
for both- we like how the L's on both ends meet underneath.
#70- can you try the owl face from #71 on this one. We'd also like to see how it would look with the word letterpress spaced out- the same width as LittleOwl. This definitely says vintage.
#71- has a little too much going on and we don't really like the moon/star in there. We like the flourishes on each side of "letterpress" though.
Happy new years! Thanks for the revisions- they're looking great!
Let's focus on #101- we like the font used for letterpress and like the spacing. The flourishes you added to #102 is too much. Maybe a simpler little flourish or dash or something to #101 to see how that goes? For the owl character- we like his eyes, but not his head part above. Can you try two small eyebrows or something more simple above the eyes?
Her is a revised head with lighter line weight on the script. The small fleurishes on #162 are made to resemble owl foot prints to re-emphasize the "little owl" thought.
#162 - love the footprint! Can you remove the shadow from the background so it's white? Can we also see the owl from #70 and put ears on him to see what it would look like? Thanks!
#191- we definitely like the ears better on this one. And we really love the flourishes you added to the letters.
#162- We love the big owl you used in #71 with all the feathers, etc., but we're not sure if the owl eyes make the design look too busy when it's just his face.
I think we're leaning more towards #191 because the little owl face in this one is more simple/clear. Would it be possible to see the #191 owl face as an entire owl. We're thinking we could use the whole owl solo for something, possibly on the website somewhere, in addition to having the logo with the little face. Is this something you could do?
Although, re-reading your last comment, I'm thinking that maybe you were just asking about a full-bodied owl in addition the logo with the isolated head. Sorry...just one of those days, I guess!
I'm sure we could work something out. Logotournament doesn't allow for art discussion not logo-related while the contest is active (so that you can't be swayed by anything other than my logo work and charm - haha)
#226 - I re-drew everything in a different weight just for comparison. The owl is much more "vector-y" (not that he wasn't vector before, but I redrew him with a solid weight line instead of a varied weight line - which made him look more hand-drawn than computer-drawn)
#226- can we see this in the same gray you used in #220? It's a bit hard to really decide which one we like better (thicker vs. thinner, etc.) because the colors are different. Very pretty blue though!!
#220 and #226- can we get the owl feet back next to letterpress (and readjust the letterpress word)- we miss them. :)
#209- can we see this design again, but without the owl- just have the LittleOwl Letterpress text with the owl feet?
#242- One thing we noticed is that the e in Little extends ever-so-slightly past the "margin" for the right side. Can you pull it back a little to the left so the edge of it lines up with the edge of the L? Does that make sense?
#243- yes, we meant #241, sorry, too many numbers. :) Thanks!
#242- can you make your font on this one the same as #243. We think the L in Owl looks a bit different and the L in Little as well. The text in #243 overall looks cleaner than #242- does that make sense?
I figured as much - I get confused just with my own entries, let alone the remaining 200+ you're dealing with! (by the way - nice work on the high turnout!)
That makes sense. I re-drew some of it to fit the different layout, I'll just pull the new elements and fit them into the horizontal layout. :) thanks again josh
I pulled the letters out and put them in the new layout - the only differences are the swash of the "L" in "Little" was adjusted to meet the horizontal format (underlining the word and ending at the owl head) and then the beginning swash on the "l" at the end of "Owl" (which, in the squared format, is attached to the uppercase "L") now attaches to the "O"...if that makes any sense at all.
